Walang bigat akong nagising kinaumagahan at may ngiti agad sa labi. I stretched slowly, feeling the weight on my chest from Zame's arm draped over it, holding me close. Tulog pa rin ang mag-ama ko.

I checked the wall clock, six-thirty seven in the morning. The three of us were close together. Roine was on my side, also embracing me.

Hinaplos kong pareho ang kanilang likod. Hindi na ata ako hihilahin pa ng antok ulit dahil sa posisyon naming tatlo. The smile on my lips couldn't fade.

Bahagyang gumalaw si Zame. I watched as his eyes slowly opened. Humawak siya sa benda at tiningala ako.

"Good morning," he greeted me hoarsely and kissed my tummy. He breathes heavily as if he's inhaling my morning scent. "Ang ganda mo."

Ngumiti ako. "Morning."

Inakyat niya ang katawan at pumantay sa akin. He rested his elbow on the pillow to look freely at me.

"Give me my morning kiss,"

Gumuhit ang daliri niya ng bilog sa aking tiyan, naglalaro roon tulad ng palagi niyang ginagawa. I miss his playing fingertips so badly!

"Hindi pa ako nagto-toothbrush,"

"So?" he raised his eyebrow.

Inilapit niya ang mukha sa akin at hinalikan ako sa pisngi. With one hand, he turned my face toward him and followed it with a kiss on the lips.

"Our anniversary is getting near. What's your plan?"

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. Pinaglapat niya ang labi para pigilan ang mapanuksong ngiti.

"You forgot."

Napahawak ako sa bibig. Nakalimutan ko! Our anniversary is months from now!

"That's okay," aniya nang hindi ako nakapagsalita. "I reminded you so you can tell me what's your plan about it. Gusto mo mag-travel?"

I bit my lip, feeling guilty. I really feel bad.

"Sorry. Nakalimutan ko..."

Sa dami ng mga iniisip ko nitong mga araw, ang mga papalapit na kaganapan, nakalimutan ko. Ito ang kauna-unahang nakalimutan ko ang wedding anniversary naming dalawa!

"It's alright. 'Wag mo lang kalimutan na mahal mo ako," tawa niya at muling nilaro ang aking tiyan. "Don't worry about it, I truly understand."

Marami rin naman siyang iniisip, pero hindi niya nakalimutan. This is a big deal for me. Anniversaries are important to remember!

"You don't have to decide now, but I just wanna know what do you wanna do?"

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin.

"Kahit ano," I said and looked at his chest and touched his tattoo. Iginuhit ng daliri ko ang gumamela, sinundan ang bawat perpektong ukit. "Pwedeng dito tayo sa bahay mag-celebrate. Ayos lang sa akin. Basta kasama ko kayo ng anak natin. We don't have to go far."

"I want to take you somewhere you love. You deserve so much better than what we have and what are we now, Yary."

"Huh? Why? Ano ba tayo ngayon?"

"I don't think we're safe. Or I should say I'm safe. As long as there's a threat in my life, I feel like you and Roine aren't safe either. I worry about both of you. I'm sorry for making you feel unsafe and jailed for all this time. You deserve everything."

Ngumiti ako. "Who told you we were jailed? Zame, you did everything to me, to your son. We are safe. You protected us. Wala kang dapat ika-sorry dahil sa'yo kami ligtas."
