Y/N and Steve had been in a relationship for roughly six months it was still a fairly new relationship but they knew practically everything about one another, they spent all day every day together whether it be at school, meeting up during Steve's break at work or hanging out with the kids he had reluctantly taken under his wing which Y/N found adorable.
Y/N had only been in Hawkins for ten months, she moved from England with her mum and dad when her dad was offered a promotion for a new job that was very high paying— Y/N was excited to move to a new place because she loved change and this was the biggest change in her life so far. She made friends rather quickly with people at the school and they were fascinated by her like Y/N was a shiny new toy and she loved the attention she was getting from people
Steve had the spontaneous idea of taking Y/N out for a picnic at night he picked her up from outside of her house where she was waiting for him on the door step, when Y/N saw her boyfriend pull up she smiled brightly before running down her drive and opening and climbing into his car, she closed the car door before turning to face Steve who was smiling brightly at Y/N,
"How goes the day gorgeous?" He asked as he kisses her cheek quickly
"Oh you know, same old." She smiled as the two set off in the car "So where are you taking me?" Y/N asked Steve as they drove down the open road.
"It's a surprise." That was all Steve said and Y/N smiled as she opened her window and leaned her head out of it letting the summer wind blow against her face and through her H/C hair, Steve couldn't help but admire his girlfriend as she had her eyes closed and just looked so peaceful, the couple were listening to music on the radio when suddenly it cut out and instead static started to come through which got Y/N's attention, "What is it shitheads?" Steve asked and Y/N it was going to be Dustin and his friends trying to contact Steve
'Steve we've found one!' Dustin shouted in despair down the radio
"Found what?" Steve asked while driving
'A Demodog!' Lucas shouted 'We need your help! Please Steve we're at the junkyard.' Lucas continued
"No way! I can't I have Y/N with me there's no way I'm bringing her there." Steve said seriously
"Steve, they're your friends and they're defenceless kids you can't leave them there. We're about two minutes away from the junkyard we have to help them." Y/N explained to her boyfriend.
"There is no we Y/N you're not getting involved in this I don't want you involved I'm taking you home." Steve says as he starts to turn the car around so Y/N pulls the hand break to stop him
"By the time you take me home who knows what could happen to them. Steve we're both going and that's final I'm not changing my mind on this so drive the car." Y/N says seriously to her boyfriend who rolled his eyes and continued to drive towards the junkyard. When the couple approached the almost pitch black surroundings Steve turned off his car and sighed before turning to Y/N,
"You stay in the car and you stay quiet, don't move, don't say a word. Get in the back seats and hide." Steve instructs his girlfriend
"I'm coming with you!" Y/N objects loudly—she was practically shouting so Steve put his hand very quickly over her mouth to make her be quiet, before then taking it away and putting both hands either side of her face and leans his forehead against hers
"I can't lose you Y/N I just want to keep you safe so please, please I am begging you just do as I am asking and stay hidden. As soon as this is done I am taking you home. I love you." Steve says as he grabs a bat with hundreds of nails sticking out of it which makes Y/N's eyes go wide, Steve takes one more look at his innocent girlfriend before getting out of the car
"Steve I—" Y/N didn't know what she was going to say but she did as she was told, she turned off the car headlights and climbed into the back of the car and hid underneath the seats.
She could hear the shouting from the kids as they were warning Steve of his surroundings, she held her hand over her mouth as she felt one of the creatures climb on top of the car— it wasn't hard to tell that Y/N was petrified she couldn't understand how her boyfriend of six months could get caught up in something like that and not tell her about it.
Suddenly everything went quiet, Y/N couldn't hear the kids anymore and she couldn't hear Steve, so she slowly popped her head up and looked out of the car window and was instantly scared when one of the monsters looked directly at her with it's disgusting mouth open wide— Y/N screamed in fear as she opened the other car door behind her but not before grabbing another nail covered bat,
Y/N scurried backwards on her hands before standing up and looking around her, she saw the kids all inside of a broken down and wrecked bus, when Y/N took a closer look she saw Steve inside as well and his face was full of fear.
"Y/N!" He screamed out to her, he wanted so badly to go and protect her but he couldn't because the bus door was barricaded shut from the inside, his girlfriend was on her own. Y/N fought well, she took on three Demodogs all on her own, smashing them to pieces as the blood splattered all over her clothes and some on her face, she was panting quite quickly when she finished beating the monster to death. When Y/N had killed them all she walked to the back of the bus and because it was so flimsy she pulled the emergency exit door off it's hinges which scared the kids inside the bus thinking it was a Demodog coming to kill them all.
"How goes the day soldier?" Y/N smirked as she dropped the bat she was previously using and instead looked at her boyfriend who was now walking towards her, Steve stared at Y/N before pulling her into his chest and hugging her tightly. Steve them kissed Y/N passionately which she smiled into but the kids on the other hand were groaning in disgust.
"You took on three of those things?" Lucas asked Y/N and she nodded
"She's better than you Steve." Dustin commented which made Y/N laugh a little, Steve wiped the blood from Y/N's face and kissed her again
"Let's get you home." Steve said to his girlfriend who agreed as the whole group got off the bus before walking towards Steve's car and getting inside. Y/N sat in the front leaning against Steve while he drove everyone home.
