Since the release of Stranger Things 4 Joseph had gotten a lot of attention for his character Eddie Munson, more of the attention was female attention but that didn't bother his girlfriend Y/N, she was just happy that her boyfriend was getting the world wide recognition that he finally deserved.
Joe had been asked to go to a London Comic Con function where he could meet his fans and talk to them on a panel, he was so excited when he got asked and instantly he rang Y/N and the happiness in his tone made her smile to herself she was so happy and overjoyed for him she couldn't contain her excitement just like Joe couldn't.
Y/N attended the convention with Joe because she wanted to experience the whole thing with him, she wanted to show her support for her boyfriend and all the fans that loved and adored him just like she did, she was shown to a room backstage while Joe did a meet and greet with his fans where he signed lots of stuff, talked to his fans for a lengthy amount of time and even took lots of pictures with them. He wanted to make their experience a great one, eventually Joe got a break after about three hours of meeting people and he went straight to the room backstage where Y/N was sat on a little sofa looking at stuff on her phone.
"Hello." Joe whispered in Y/N's ear from behind her which made her jump
"Jesus Joe." She sighed due to the shock, she looked up at him and he just smiled down at her before kissing the top of her head, "How have you been finding it?" Y/N asked as Joe came and sat next to his girlfriend on the sofa, bringing her in for a tight hug as he hadn't seen her for a few hours
"Yeah it's been amazing meeting all the fans and getting fan art and taking pictures with them all. I loved it Y/N." Joe gushed and Y/N pouted slightly at his cuteness because she hadn't seen him this happy in such a long time and she loved it,
"I love you, you know that right?" Y/N smiled at her boyfriend
"Of course I know you do and I love you too." Joe said
"I just mean that I am so proud of you and the way you act with everyone and I know you love all your fans, and I've seen the stuff on social media that you have been tagged in within the last couple of hours and I haven't stopped smiling. They all love you Joe. Not as much as I do though." Y/N smiled which made Joe laugh as he hugged Y/N tightly before kissing her softly
"I have to go now." Joe told Y/N
"Well take these with you." Y/N handed Joe a bottle of water and a sandwich because she knew he hadn't eaten and if the hours were going to be like they were earlier he wasn't going to get a chance to eat anything. Joe gave Y/N another kiss before Malta his way back to the place he was doing the meet and greets.
As the day went on Y/N made her way to the backstage area where Joe was going to be doing a panel question and answer with his fans which Y/N knew he was very excited for. Y/N stood to the side of the stage watching her boyfriend answer questions with a smile and a laugh it wasn't until one fan in particular spoke up that really made Y/N feel upset and uneasy
'This isn't a question but I'm sure lots of us heard what happened yesterday whether it's true or not, um about how you were treated but I just wanted to say thank you from all of us we're really grateful that you're sharing your time. We've seen you with your girlfriend today and noticed how little time you have got to spend with her but I think from the bottom of all our hearts we appreciate you and giving your time to us away from her, we all love her and love the way she treats you because you deserve the absolute world and we know that she can give that you. All in all we just want to say thank you.' The fan expressed and when Y/N looked at Joe he was wiping tears away from his eyes subtly while all the fans cheered for the speech that the other girl had given. Joe briefly looked over at Y/N who was also wiping tears away from her eyes
"I appreciate what you have just said and I thank you all so much for wanting to meet me, I'll be back in a second because I can see my girlfriend is upset so I just need to make sure she is okay." Joe said and the amount of cheers he got from his fans was so loud and lovely, when Joe went up to Y/N he hugged her tightly
"Why didn't you tell me about yesterday? I asked you how you were and you said nothing. Why didn't you tell me you were treated like utter shit." Y/N said to Joe sadly
"Because it was one incident and I didn't want to ruin the rest of the day because of that one thing, I have had the best time because of you and the fans. I love you and none of what happened yesterday means anything at all." Joe said as he held Y/N's hands
"Please don't let them treat you like rubbish because if you don't say something I will." Y/N expressed loudly and the fans heard what Y/N said and started to cheer and praise her "I think your fans heard me." Y/N laughed and so did Joe
"Yeah maybe you were a little loud, I have to go back out there now. I promise you I'm fine, I love you so much." Joe said as he kissed Y/N's cheek and wiped her tears away before heading back on stage to talk to his fans some more.
