MEETING SOMEONE ALWAYS ENDS IN THE TRAGIC RESOLUTION OF SEPARATING FROM THEM.

That was something Valerie learned the hard way, multiple times. A heart as delicate and fragile as Valerie's could so easily be deceived and blinded. I mean.. all it took was a fake suicide letter! Nova Delarouz knew that better than anyone.

Nova was always deeply envious of Valerie. The way she had everything handed to her on a silver platter. Plus, she practically slept surrounded by wads of cash and designer brands. One-hundred dollars was practically pocket money to Valerie, (in Nova's perspective). It's not like Nova was suffering from poverty or anything. She just didn't think it was fair that Valerie had anything and everything she desired. Unfortunately for Valerie, there was only one wish that wouldn't come true. No matter the wish she made on her birthday while she was blowing out her candles, or the amount of affirmations she spoke out loud, her wish would never be available to her.

Her wish was to have the life that everyone thought she had. For context, everyone thought she had the most admirable relationship with her mother, when in reality, was far from the truth. They also thought that the pearls and diamonds she was surrounded by was enough for mental stability. Therefore, any time someone caught her crying, they'd bring up how she had no right to be upset considering the life she had. Oh well! Everyone has the right to form an opinion of their own.

Valerie, Selina, Steve, and the rest of the kids made their way towards the hole Hopper dug. Valerie wasn't looking forward to purposely letting herself near those terrifying face-opening species. But she had a task to complete, so she was willing to take the risk!

"Alright.. so? Who's going first?" Steve asked, looking towards everyone. "You're literally the closest to the hole." Selina pointed to the hole. "Righ- Yeah, yeah. I was gonna go first anyways." He nervously replied. "He's scared." Valerie whispered to the kids, Dustin and Lucas not being able to contain their laughter. "I'm not scared, okay?" Steve shook his head, bending down towards the hole. Valerie, Selina, and the kids shared a look in reply to Steve's remark. After trying not to make it obvious he was hesitating on going inside of the hole, he finally hopped in. Steve turned his flashlight on, shining it all over the setting around him. "Holy shit." He sighed in amazement. Valerie was up next to step inside of the hole, Steve holding out his hands to help her down. She grabbed onto his hands, carelessly hopping inside of the hole. She was about to let go of Steve's hands, until the sound of vines moving caught their attention. They tightened the grip on each other's hands, both of them looking for where the sound was coming from. After the sound quieted down, they turned to each other, quickly realizing that their fingers were tightly interlocked. They hastily pulled their hands away from each other's, an awkward and dreadful silence occurring. "So.. uh, are y'all just gonna stand there, or will y'all do your jobs?" Dustin shook his head. "Right, uh.. yeah." Steve nodded.
