IMPORTANT AFTER NOTE AT END!!!

Amanda parked in front of the banquet hall. Arden had texted me the address earlier today. I couldn't help but admire how fancy and posh it looked from the outside. Just imagine the inside! "Okay, Romeo, get out," Amanda said.

I rolled my eyes at her but chuckled nonetheless. "You should be grateful I'm going," I pointed out. "Now you can spend quality time with Colton."

"He has to go to some business party with his dad," she answered, wrinkling her nose.

"Mr. Hayes came back?" I asked incredulously, shocked that Colton didn't tell me.

Amanda let out a sigh. "Apparently."

I couldn't fathom what Amanda had told me. Colton's father came back and the bastard didn't tell me? Shrugging it off, I fixed my tie and got out of the car. I was wearing another one of Colton's suits. Now that he and Amanda were dating, Colton gave me one of his best suits and he even said I could keep it. He was definitely trying to kiss up to Amanda.

"Have fun," Amanda called out as I exited her car.

Giving her a slight wave, I headed towards the entrance.

"Name?" one of the security guards asked.

"Uh, Nicholas Jackson." I had my doubts that my name would even be on the list.

The security guard flipped through the pages attached to his clipboard and shook his head. "Sorry, but your name isn't on the guest list."

"He's with me," a voice said from behind me.

I whipped my head around to see Colton and Laura walking up the steps and joining the security guard and I.

The security guard's eyes widened. "Of course, Mr. Hayes," he said.

I raised an eyebrow at Colton, who returned it with a smirk.

"Right this way." The security guard opened the door and granted us access.

I clapped Colton's back. "Thanks for that."

He grinned back at me. "I'd do anything for my girlfriend's baby brother."

"You're dating Nicholas's sister?" Laura asked Colton, who nodded proudly. She then proceeded to smiling at me. "Hi, sweetheart."

"Hey, Laura," I called out awkwardly.

She examined me and smiled slyly. "You look very attractive, honey." She paused. "Is that Colton's suit?"

"It is," Colton answered, beating me to it.

"It looks slightly big on you," Laura noted.

"It's only because Jackson's butt is small." Colton sympathetically patted my shoulder. "It's okay, bro. Nothing to be ashamed about."

Shrugging his hand off of my shoulder, I glared at Colton. "Hell's doors are always open for you."

Colton laughed. "Ah, but you'd miss me if I went."

"Highly unlikely, Hayes."

"I have to go now, boys," Laura said to us. She then turned to face Colton. "Will you be fine on your own?"

Colton nodded with an eye roll. "I'll be fine."

Laura smiled at him before placing a hand on my shoulder. "With Nicholas here, you'll be in good hands." She squeezed my shoulder and sent me a wink before walking away.
