(Y/N) did not talk to Oikawa the next day nor the day after that. When he tried to speak to her during lunch, she simply turned her back in favor of Hina and Amara. She knew she was acting childish, but she needed space and time. Her mind was stuck on two things: how easily Oikawa's words could hurt her and how easily he was able to lie to her.

The team began to notice the discord between the two, shivering at the cold shoulder Oikawa was receiving from the small manager. A week had passed and it got to the point where it was affecting the team's play. Oikawa was noticeably distracted during practice, his eyes never leaving (Y/N)'s form. And after the second flubbed set, enough was enough and Iwaizumi took it upon himself to become the mediator between the two.

He pulled Trashykawa aside by the ear. "Listen to me, Oikawa."

Oikawa perked up. When Iwa-chan used his real name it meant things were serious.

"You need to sort things out with (Y/N) before the Spring Tournament," Iwaizumi ordered.

Oikawa rolled his eyes, "that's what I've been trying to do, Iwa-chan! But she won't even speak to me," he finished sadly.

"Well, what do you want to say to her?" Iwaizumi prompted.

Little did Oikawa know that you were listening from around the hallway corner. Iwaizumi had asked to meet you outside his classroom after class for some help, but when she arrived she was surprised to find him talking to Tooru.

"I just want to tell her that I'm sorry," Oikawa said, his mask dropped and his full vulnerability showing, "I'm sorry for lying to her. I'm sorry for bringing up her past. For hurting her. For not listening to her. I also want to tell her that I miss her. I miss her laugh. I miss her smile. I miss the way she calls me Shittykawa and how she's never afraid to call me out on my shit. I miss her voice. I miss her sassiness. But most of all, I just miss her presence and being part of her life."

Iwaizumi smiled, proud at his friend for being honest. He glanced over at the hallway corner he knew you were hiding behind, hearing the sound of faint footsteps fade away. Damn he was good.

--

"(Y/N)," a familiar voice called to her.

She pretended to not hear him, instead burying her nose deeper in the book she was reading. Last night, she had listened to his confession in the hallway to Iwaizumi and had already decided to forgive him. Her eyes watered as Oikawa said the sweetest things she had ever hear her boyfriend say. Oikawa was always affectionate in a playful way but she cherished the truly genuine moments.

"Please," Oikawa pleaded, "hear me out."

A small dark part of her enjoyed Oikawa groveling and that sadistic part wanted to let this play out a teensy bit longer. She moved her eyes slowly away from the pages and met the sad brown eyes of Aoba Johsai's setter. She still refused to speak.

"I'm so sorry--" Oikawa began, but the (h/c)-haired girl cut him off.

"It's okay," she smiled at him, "I know what you're going to say and I forgive you."

Oikawa blinked once, stunned at the beautiful angel before him. He expected a lot more anger from her and was surprised at her forgiveness. "W-what? You forgive me? But like I'm a horrible person, I was an asshole to you, and I don't deserve you."

She raised one eyebrow, "I already knew that when I started dating you."

The playboy setter stood there in shock as she got up from her seat and hugged him. He relaxed into her touch as he embraced her back, burying his face into her soft hair.
