Oikawa's POV
Oikawa frowned to himself as he watched Iwa-chan leave for class with some girl. Of course, he wouldn't show his displeasure outwardly. Instead, he kept his practiced smile plastered on his face.
"Thank you for the cookies!" Oikawa thanked cheerfully to a blushing, blonde-haired first year, "I'll be sure to enjoy them today." He smiled as he held a prettily wrapped bag of homemade chocolate chip cookies.
"Y-your welcome, Oikawa-san." The blonde girl said quickly, blushing furiously.
Oikawa glanced to the clock in the hallway, realizing class would start soon. He couldn't afford to be late on the first day since he would be forced to stay behind and clean the classroom, eating into his volleyball practice.
"Now, ladies. I must really go or I'll be late for class! It was nice talking to you all." He said, in his fake positive voice as he made his way out of the small crowd of girls.
He heard disappointed sighs and whines asking him to stay. He wanted to frown in annoyance and allow his disgust to show on his face as he walked away. Sure, he liked the attention, but he was a simple second year and the girls couldn't seem to give him a single moment to himself or with his friends. Didn't they have anything better to do? Instead of allowing himself the rare occurrence of doing what he wanted to do, he continued his facade that he had since junior high school, a pleasant expression and cheerful greetings.
He knew Iwa-chan hated his fake smiles and flirting, but Oikawa still wore his mask, if only to hide the disgusting person he knew was underneath. Though sometimes it was exhausting, putting on airs for others, portraying their ideal Oikawa and not his real self.
He sighed, once he entered an empty hallway, allowing his smile to drop and a hard look to enter his eyes, turning the soft chocolate into flint. Oikawa allowed a genuine smile to cross his face when he saw Iwa-chan standing outside their classroom.
"Awww Iwa-chan!" Oikawa said, "You waited for me!"
"No," Iwa-chan said with his classic, deadpan expression. "I was showing (Y/N)-san where the bathrooms were located." He gestured to a small, (h/c) haired girl. She was beautiful, almost like a porcelain doll.
Oikawa expected to be met with a meek, blushing face and a stuttered greeting. However, he was surprised to see the girl staring at him impassively, her large (e/c) eyes blank and unimpressed.
He could see past her calm eyes to the razor sharp intelligence and cunning underneath, much like his own. His eyes flicked to her metal brace on her knee and the small volleyball keychain hanging from her bag, taking in small details about her.
"Are you done staring?" (Y/N) asked, her voice like a wind chime.
Iwaizumi choked, trying not to burst out laughing. It was the first time he had introduced a girl to Oikawa and they weren't immediately enamored.
"Sorry, that was rude of me." Oikawa apologized, plastering a fake smile on his face. He was a bit unsettled by her cold behavior and calculating eyes. "My name's Oikawa."
A small frown graced the girl's face. "(Y/N)." She replied.
(Y/N) then turned to Iwa-chan, "Thank you Iwaizumi-san for showing me around. I think I'll now find my seat." She left, walking inside class 2-A, her calm (e/c) eyes scanning the room for an empty seat.
"Wow Iwa-chan, I think you found the iciest of all ice queens," Oikawa stated.
"She's actually really nice if you talk to her for a bit." Iwaizumi defended, "You're just upset that she's not fawning over you like every other girl in the school."
