The morning after

Colby's pov
Last night all Roux wanted to do was snuggle with me and I couldn't say no to her after everything that she went through and thankfully everybody understood I wake up and I see on the other side of Roux is Rebecca awake with Dustin "good morning honey" "good morning handsome how did you sleep?" "I slept pretty good but I woke up once in the middle of the night because our princess was crying so I got up and brought her downstairs with her and gave her some of her pain meds because she was in a lot of pain" "aww my poor girl I feel so bad that she got hurt" "so do I I almost punched the nurse when she stuck Roux for the iv and it didn't help that she was begging me to get the nurse to stop hurting her and she was giving me puppy dog eyes and her lip was quivering and I just had to sit there and hold her while she was begging me to do something" "Well I'm glad you were in there with her and not me because I'd be in jail" "I know anyway how did our little prince sleep?" "I'm not completely sure because my mom actually wanted to take care of him for the night so I could get some uninterrupted sleep so I slept for a while until she had to come get me because Dustin was hungry so I fed him and got him back to sleep and then my mom came and took him back until a few minutes ago" I look down and see that Roux is starting to wake up "Hey baby girl how are you feeling" "Foot hurt a lot and I hungry and I want keeva" I look over to Rebecca "umm who's keeva?" "She's my moms new puppy but she's the size of Andre even though she's only 6 months old" "Okay" "Roux honey do you wanna go get some breakfast and watch tv downstairs with grandma, uncle Richie, Hunter, and Stephanie?"
Roux doesn't respond she just nods so I carefully get up with Roux in my arms so when I get downstairs I immediately go to the living room where Annette and Richie are hanging out "good morning mom good morning Richie" "good morning Colby hey princess how you feeling?" "Good moning grammy good moning uncle wichie I in pain and hungry" "Your daddy is getting you something to eat and some medicine to make the pain go away" I put Roux down on the couch with Richie and Annette "Roux bear what do you want to eat for breakfast?" "Pancakes please daddy" "Okay I'll be back with your pancakes soon princess and I'm gonna get your pain medicine for your foot" "thanks daddy you the best" "Of course my little love" I walk into the kitchen and I see Stephanie and her daughter Aurora "morning Stephanie good morning Aurora" "good morning Colby where is Roux?" "She's hanging out with Rebecca's mom and brother in the living room and she's waiting for pancakes and pain medicine" "Well at least she knows what she wants for breakfast Aurora" "mom chill" "Hey Aurora do you want pancakes too?" "Yes please" "Okay I'll make you some how many do you want?" "3 please" "you're welcome why don't you go hang out in the living room with Roux and Rebecca's mom and brother" "Okay" Aurora gets up and gives me a hug and then goes into the living room "Colby you don't have to make Aurora pancakes" "it's okay Roux wants pancakes too so might as well make Aurora some pancakes too" "thank you Colby" "you don't have to thank me I'd do it for any of you any day of the week besides Roux has definitely turned me into a big softy"
"I can tell but that's not a bad thing" "I know and Roux always tells me that she wants to be like me when she grows up because she wants to be strong like me" "awe she's so sweet" "Yeah she's such a sweetheart I don't know what I would do without her in my life even though I never expected to be a girl dad when I was a teenager I always thought that I was only going to have boys but she has changed my life for the better" "Hunter said the same thing when all three girls were born" I start making the pancakes but right before I put the batter in the pan I get some pain medicine for Roux and some chocolate milk and bring it to her "Roux bear I'm working on the pancakes right now but I figured that I should give you your medicine to make your foot stop hurting" "Okay daddy" she opens her mouth (the pain medicine is in liquid form since Roux is so young it's hard for her to swallow pills) and squirt it into her mouth and she quickly swallows it and then she gags because the medicine tastes nasty so I give her the chocolate milk "here is some chocolate milk honey I know the medicine tastes nasty but it'll help you feel better" "I know daddy are mumma and brover still sleeping?" "I don't know but I'm sure they'll be downstairs soon you don't have to worry" thankfully Richie is the best uncle and knows how to distract Roux "Hey Roux wanna watch mommy kick Ronnie's booty and make history?" "Yeah mommy is better than Ronnie (Ronnie is Ronda Rousey)" so Richie quickly finds the YouTube video of the triple threat winner takes all match with her mom winning both the raw and smack down women's championships to become Becky two belts and then to go on to become the longest reigning raw women's champion in WWE history until she had to relinquish it because she was pregnant with Roux I go back to the kitchen and make the pancakes "Hey Aurora what do you want me to put on your pancakes?" "Syrup, butter, and powdered sugar" "do you know where the powdered sugar is?" "Yeah it's above the refrigerator because mom and dad don't want Vaughn or Murphy to eat powdered sugar and then be more hyper than the energizer bunny" "Okay that makes a lot of sense actually" "I know I've witnessed both of them literally bounce off the walls because they were on a powdered sugar bender harder then a drug user" " Well dang" I get the powdered sugar out "Aurora how much powdered sugar do you want?" "2 spoonfulls please" "sounds good I'm going to put some powdered sugar on Roux's pancakes as a little extra special treat for being super brave yesterday at the hospital" "how long does she have to be in the cast?" "Between 3 and 6 months my poor girl" "awe poor Roux is it okay if I sign her cast?" "Yeah go ahead but just be careful if you have to move her leg around because if it hurts she might punch you in the throat" "she really does love her sleep doesn't she" "Yeah I mean I tried to wake her up one day and she punched me in the jaw and I swear she has the strongest punch I have ever felt in my entire life she almost knocked me out" "Well dang I better wait until she's fully awake and had her food" "that's a smart choice" "Aurora here are your pancakes enjoy" "Thank you I think I hear Roux calling you" I go to the living room "yea Roux bear?" "Are my pancakes almost ready I'm starving over here" "Okay Roux they're almost done just try to be patient bear" "I'm just super hungry daddy and don't forget that you promised me ice cream yesterday" "I know Roux bear now watch tv with your uncle and grandma" I go back into the kitchen and finish up making Roux's pancakes "here come your pancakes Roux bear but be careful we don't want to get the couch all sticky" I hand the plate to Richie because Roux is sitting in his lap "thank you daddy I love you" "I love you too my little princess" I lean down and give her a kiss on the top of her head then I go back to the kitchen to clean up the dishes I used to make the pancakes with and put them away after I washed them and then I went to living room where they were sitting and eating to hang out with Roux until I hear Dustin start crying from upstairs so I get up "Hey Roux bear can you hang out with uncle Richie and grandma while I go make sure mumma is okay?" "Yeah daddy" When I get upstairs Dustin is hysterically crying and Rebeca is trying everything she can to get him to stop crying but I can tell she's getting frustrated so I go over to her "do you want me to try to calm little man down?" After I finish singing to Dustin he's fast asleep so I decide to get up and bring Dustin downstairs to the living room where Rebecca Roux Annette Richie Stephanie and Hunter were hanging out and when I sit down by Rebecca I see possibly the biggest dog I've ever seen in my entire life "ummm what the heck is that?" I point to the dog Rebecca and Annette look at each other and then back at me and Rebecca says "that's Keeva ma's six month old puppy" "are you sure that's a dog and not a freaking horse?" Annette starts laughing "I know what you mean Colby and yes Keeva is a dog not a horse" Roux smiles so big "Keeva come here" Keeva goes over to Roux and puts her head on Roux's lap and lays down on the floor "Stephanie do you let your dogs on the couch?" "Yeah we let our dogs on the couch and it's okay if you let Keeva on the couch she drools way less than Andre and Attilla" "that's for sure a few days ago Roux was taking a nap in our bed while I went to do something and when I went back into the room Andre was standing over Roux like he was protecting her and he looked at me like he was telling me that she's okay and when I got over to Roux her face was completely covered in drool thankfully Roux's mouth was closed so I just wiped off the drool" apparently Roux was listening when I said that Andre drooled all over her face "that's yucky Andre no drooling on my face" we all just started laughing "Roux bear it's okay I cleaned your face up before it got in your mouth so you're okay" "oh okay" "how is your foot feeling Roux bear?" "It hurts a little bit but not a lot because daddy gave me medicine it make the pain go bye bye" "that's what daddy's are supposed to do" "mumma I have a question" "what's your question bear?" "Where's your daddy I wanna meet him he has to be awesome like you uncle and grandma" I look over at Rebecca and I can tell that Roux's question knocked the wind out of her so I decide to step in and help the situation "Roux bear that's a hard question for your mommy to answer because when you were a baby like your brother your mommy's daddy went up to heaven and your mommy didn't get to say bye bye to him and she misses him a lot because her daddy was super sick and had to go to heaven to get better" "is he gonna come back soon?" "Roux bear when someone goes to heaven they don't come back and before you ask he can't call her on the phone because they don't have phones in heaven" "but daddy I had a dream about grandpa visiting us and he told me that he visits mommy uncle grandma and brover all the time and he even said that brover looks like him" at this point all of us are shocked heck Stephanie and Hunter are shaking but thankfully Stephanie steps in to help the situation because she could clearly tell that Rebecca was on the verge of tears "Hey Roux do you wanna watch cartoons?" "Yes please" I stand up look over at Richie and Annette and tell them "I'm going to go calm Rebecca down for a little bit" they nod and I go over to Rebecca and pick her up and she instantly koala hugs me and I carry her upstairs to our room to calm her down once we are in the room I close the door and lock it and I get Rebecca off of me I can tell that she's seconds away from sobbing "hey hey hey Rebecca look at me it's okay you're okay just breathe for me" she does some deep breathing and she starts to calm down a little "good job love bug now are you okay?" "I don't know I just wasn't expecting her to ask me about my dad" "I don't think anyone expected it but I know that she was not trying to upset you" "I know that Roux wasn't trying to upset me and that she doesn't fully understand what she asked me but it still stings a little" "I know it does honey but we're all here for you" "I love you bubby" "I love you too honey" I get up and go over to Rebecca and I pull her gently into my chest and hug her and she hugs me back and I can tell she's crying because I can feel my shirt getting wet so I pick her up and bring her over to the bed and I sit down and put Rebecca in my lap and I run my hand up and down her back then all of a sudden there's a knock on our door so I gently put Rebecca on the bed and go to the door and open it and I see Richie standing there with some kind of book in his hand "Hey Richie what's up?" "I just wanted to make sure that my sister is okay" "come on in Richie" Richie comes into the room and instantly notices that Rebecca is crying so he goes over to her "Becca it's okay you're okay just breathe and tell me what happened" she calms down a little bit "I just miss dad so much and I wish he was still here" "Becca trust me we all wish he was still here but there's nothing we can do about it but I have something that might make you feel better" he pulls out the book and Rebecca almost immediately knows what it is "is that what I think it is?" "Depends what do you think it is?" "Dads journal?" "In his office it was on the top shelf of the bookshelf inside of his copy of war and peace don't ask why dad had war and peace because ma and I have no clue" "Well he was a nerd so I'm not that surprised" "good point" I go over and give Richie a hug and then I give Colby a hug and then we all go back downstairs to the living room where Stephanie and Hunter are keeping Roux busy watching cartoons "you okay??" "Yeah I'm okay" "mumma I sowwy(sorry) I made you sad" "it's okay baby I'm okay" "okay" "Rebecca are you okay?" Stephanie asked "Yeah I'm okay" "Okay just making sure" "Hey Roux bear how is your foot feeling?" "It hurts a wittle(little) bit" "Okay I'm sure daddy will get you some medicine to make the pain go bye bye" Colby gets up and goes to the kitchen to get Roux some pain medicine then comes back with the medicine and some chocolate milk "here is your medicine and some chocolate milk for my little princess" a few minutes later Roux was asleep in Colby's lap and there was a knock on the door so Hunter got up and answered the door
Hunters pov
I get up to see who's at the door when I open the door I see Ashley which confuses me "hey Ashley what are you doing here?" "I heard that Roux got hurt and I wanted to make sure she's okay and I still haven't met Dustin" "come on in everyone is in the living room but try to be quiet because Roux is taking a nap on Colby"

OKAY IM ENDING THIS CHAPTER HERE AND I KNOW I HAVE NOT POSTED ANYTHING ON HERE FOR A WHILE BUT I'M A COLLEGE STUDENT SO TAKE IT EASY COLLEGE IS STRESSFUL IM NOT TOTALLY SURE WHEN IM GOING TO POST THE NEXT CHAPTER BUT I'LL TRY TO POST A NEW CHAPTER BY HALLOWEEN BUT CUT ME SOME SLACK IVE BEEN STUCK IN A RUT BECAUSE ITS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE MY DOG ROXIE DIED AND IT HURTS SO BAD
