Above the clouds stood a kingdom of life - a land that only the best of the best could stand and live in. This land was different from the land below the clouds.

The constant flow of wind was noticeable, but it wasn't unbearable. The brighter skies allowed light to illuminate the ground so effectively that even lamps and streetlights were not required during the night sky.

The roads were sandstone, combined with polished granite that looked like it came out of a 16-bit block game.

They called this land "Heaven".

In this kingdom, the people of the dead, who were judged to be "just" on their judgement day, lived their own lives, lives which they originally had on earth.

These lives were not that much different from what they would have had down on earth. The streets were bustling with people, shop buildings and mobility transportation systems. The people all wore clothing, which mostly consisted of white robes, halo's, flip flops and feathery angel wings.

When Suzuki Shizuku kept thinking about this, she couldn't help but frown as she was walking down the street.

Her previous life had never been like any of the people she walked past.

For the 10 years that she lived as a normal human, she was completely isolated from society, just like the other kids around her. She was abused and used like a guinea pig. And after 10 years, she finally broke and decided it was the end for her.

Shizuku sighed as she continued walking down the streets, holding a book in her hand.

After walking alone down the streets for nearly 10 minutes, Shizuku arrived at her destination - the library. She entered the building and made her way up the stairs.

As she did so, her mind drifted away back to the world below her.

It had been nearly 8 years since she made that promise to her best friend, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

"If you ever get out of this place Kiyotaka, experience the outside world. What it means to have freedom. What it's like to have good friends outside. What it feels like to be in love. And even what ice cream tastes like. Everything that we've talked about. I want you to experience it for me if you ever get the chance."

She couldn't help but blush whenever she remembered both that promise and what she said in her head after. But Shizuku shook her head to dispel those romantic thoughts and focused back on the matter at hand.

Ever since she arrived at Heaven, Shizuku had been spending as much time as possible watching over Kiyotaka, trying to see how he was living his life. Being an angel in heaven, she possessed abilities to do such a thing, but it was only possible to watch over one person.

The amount of things she saw and experienced from watching Kiyotaka live his life ranged from amazing to emotional, however, overall, she felt extremely happy that her best friend was living the life she longed to live when she was alive.

And most of all, Kiyotaka never forgot about her. Everytime she peeked, she could see he was thinking about her a lot. And even though he got himself a girlfriend, he couldn't help but think about Shizuku too. The reason could have been because Karuizawa Kei looked like her alot, and when she thought about it, Kei looked quite familiar to Shizuku though she couldn't figure out why.

The point was that Shizuku couldn't be more happier for Kiyotaka.

"Ah. Shizuku-chan. There you are."

Shizuku wasn't completely paying attention to her surroundings, so when a voice called out to her, she was caught off guard. She turned to the owner and found two people wearing what appeared to be the library's uniform.
