"Okay! How about Jacob?" said Toni.

"Eww. No. My future child will not be named Jacob."

"Okay. Charlie."

"For a boy or a girl?"

"A girl."

"No!"

"Umm, oh I know." She stood on the bed. "Toni!" I rolled my eyes. "It works for both genders."

"Yeah, right. I'm going to go through 9 months of pregnancy with aches, pains, and not being able to eat what I want. Then I'm going to go through hours of labor and push it out. Plus I still have to go deal with the problems after pregnancy. Just to name it Toni. Nope."

"Oh so you can scream it at the top of your lungs but it's not good enough for our child?"

"Say that again but slower."

"What, you scream it when I...oh. Yeah, no."

"Exactly." She flopped back on the bed.

"I'm so excited about this baby."

"Me too. I'm so excited to be a mommy."

"And I'm excited to be...." She thought for a second.

"A mommy."

"Really? But I'm the paternal parent. That's usually the dad."

"Are you a man?"

"No."

"Then you will be a mom. We'll just explain that you're intersex. It's not that hard."

"See, this is why we work so well together." I laughed and looked at my phone.

"Oh we have to get going. Mother does not play about Michael's welcome home parties." I got off the bed.

"Alright, let me get the stuff out of the dryer real quick." She got up and went downstairs.

It had been two weeks since I found out that I was pregnant. Toni moved into my house the very next day after we found out. Kenny, Ray and Lawrence helped her pack and move. They were all so excited about the news. It's funny how I was so mad at them and now we're all friends. Really shows that people can change.

I went into my closet and pulled out my leggings and a hoodie. It was nearing the end of October and it was starting to get a little chilly. I matched it with some Doc Martens. Toni bought them for me. I usually don't wear big platform shoes like this but it grew on me. I wear them every chance I get.

Going into the bathroom, I pulled my hair into a ponytail. I had faux locs in. Toni wanted us to match a little bit and she was right. It's so cute that we match. I opted for no makeup and just put my glasses on.
I grabbed my phone off the bed and headed downstairs. The house was so different since Toni moved in. I mean it still had my personal feel to it but there were changes that I really liked. For example, Toni had changed the entertainment center to a bigger screen tv and she added a new sound system, plus her games. She also changed the living room furniture to more lounge things. She said and I quote 'We not keeping this white woman magazine furniture.' The couches now had a reclining feature to it and we had huge bean bag chairs scattered around the entire house.

I wanted to keep my original furniture, she converted my downstairs guest room into a sitting room for when I have my sisters, friends, and mother over. She said we can do the fancy tea shit in there. We also redid the basement with a pool table, ping pong, arcade games and a bunch of stuff that Toni liked.

Of course when we finished, she invited all her friends over and they behaved like children. At one point, Kenny stumped upstairs and complained to Nicole and I that Lawrence was cheating in the basketball game. Then Ray came pouting, saying that Toni wasn't playing fair.
