After what felt like a slow morning of classes, the lunch period finally arrived. Emma was still nowhere in sight. Did she actually ditch school? That wasn't like her at all. She couldn't have waited until Senior Ditch Day next week? All that was forgotten once I spotted Hailey standing at the wall next to the door that led to the cafeteria. For the first time ever, she was alone. Not one person was following her around. How was this possible? People love to sit with her at lunch. But I guess it didn't matter. She wanted to spend time with me and nobody else.

"Hey," she said with a breathtaking smile as she pushed back part of her hair and bit her lip.

"Hey back at you."

We both just stood there glaring at each other in happiness. Neither of us knew what to say. For about a quick minute, Hailey could only deliver a few light giggles and licked those beautiful lips. My heart was beating quicker by the moment. And I could've sworn that I could hear her heartbeat as well.

"So," I finally broke the silence that lay between us. "I have an idea. Why don't we skip lunch and go to the school music studio? I have the key. We should be able to get in." Just like that, the key came out of my pocket.

With a nervous laugh, she spoke. "Really? Well, like, I guess there's a first time for everything. Let's do it."

My heart was beyond grateful that Hailey was down to come to the music studio with me. A place she had surprisingly had never stepped foot. That was all going to change. With our hands together, we ran through mostly empty halls until we reached the door that led into the studio. Upon using the key to unlock the door, my heart went crazy and my stomach felt a little nauseous.

It had occurred to me that I could get in trouble for letting a random person into the studio. Someone who wasn't a member of the club. Sure, Hailey wasn't a member, but she certainly wasn't random. Ever since our time at the beach, I knew this is where Hailey belonged. There was no second question about it.

"Wow," awed Hailey like a child on Christmas once we entered. "So, this is the legendary music studio. Like, it's exactly like what I've seen in every movie and television show involving music studios."

"What about that Selena movie?" I jokingly asked as my mind quickly thought about Emma.

"Yes, especially that movie." With a quick smile, she gave my chest a light punch.

Once the awing died down, Hailey found her way into the microphone room and picked up a microphone. For about a minute, she simply looked at it as if she had made the world's most important discovery. Yes, the way she did that was a little hot. I wasted no time in getting to the sound booth in the other room as I knew what was about to happen. No time could be wasted. In her natural element, her mouth opened up and she began singing.

"Sing us a song

And we'll sing it back to you.

We could sing our own

But what would it be without you"

Seconds later, her voice could be heard throughout the room which definitely caught her by surprise. For a brief moment, she stopped and noticed that I was recording her. Sure, she was shocked, but she couldn't help but grin as I began playing the keyboard to fill in the void for her absent lyrics. Licking her lips, the girl closed her eyes and went back to singing.

"I am nothing now

And its been so long

Since I've heard a sound

The sound of my only hope

This time I will be listening."

Funny how she was making up a song about singing and sounds. Who knew that she could make up a song that quickly without any preparation? With that angelic voice, I continued to play the keyboard in the background along with some other sounds. We were making some amazing music.

"Sing us a song

And we'll sing it back to you

We could sing our own

But what would it be without you."

With her eyes still closed, Hailey found her groove as I could feel so much passion coming out of her voice. These were no random lyrics. These lyrics really meant something to her. With all this passion, I found myself sucked into my making some pretty amazing background noises and sounds. These were sounds that I never in my wildest dreams realized could be made. But of course, here we were in this crazy and historic moment that I was sure we'd be able to remember for the rest of our lives.

"This heart, it beats

Beats for only you."

Crap, this song was powerful enough to be a hit. This needed to be on the radio. Heck, if we weren't careful, someone could easily still this song and make it theirs.

After the most powerful four or five minutes of my life, she put the song to a close. After taking a heavy breath, Hailey opened her eyes and shredded off a couple of tears that lay on her face.

"How was it?" She asked as it became clear that she had revealed her soul.

I was left almost speechless and invited her into the recording room so she could listen to what we had produced. While she listened to it, more tears came out of her eyes and she stop grinning while biting those lips. There were a couple of times her face turned red as she put her sight towards the ground. Once the song ended, all Hailey could do was give me a smile and thanked me.

"No," I replied while grabbing both of her hands and standing up. "Thank you."

Putting my left thumb on her bottom lip and with my right hand still holding on to hers, our bodies grew closer until there was no space between us. My whole body began to shake and I could feel the same from Hailey. With my thumb on top of her bottom lip, her teeth took the liberty of lightly biting it. Swallowing as hard as I could, my eyes were closed and without another thought, my lips quickly made their way against hers. Bam! A peck was shared between us.

Hailey seemed surprised, but at the same time, it was as if she knew what was about to happen. In some ways, I kind of foresaw this happening. With a bright glee over her face, she returned the favor with another quick peck on the lips. Crap, she returned the favor? Like, this girl actually gave me a kiss in return? She didn't actually reject what I had given her? For a brief moment, we just looked each other in the eyes. It felt like I could almost see her soul. She could also see mine. This was the moment. It was our moment.

With our bodies still together with no space, our mouths met together again in synch. We both knew what we wanted. We both knew what we needed. We needed each other. There was no question.

Our lips were giving each other more than quick pecks. Our lips were moving against each other. Neither of us could stop. Just like that, my hands pushed Hailey against the wall as we continued to share our special moment. Our lips were hungry for each other. For the first time in my life, I wasn't afraid of anything. My heart had a sense that everything would be okay. And strangely enough, my whole body felt healthy.

The song that Hailey was singing is from Paramore which was released in 2005. Something isn't adding up. Hmm. Theories?
