Chapter 10: Visiting the Kapadia Sadan

The classes ended for the day and Anuj and Anupama left the classroom. They were in the corridor when Anupama remembered that she had told her brother that she'll go home with him.

Anupama: Arre baap re!

Anuj: Kya hua?!

Anupama: Arre woh..ekuch minute rukna, mujhe apne bhai ko batana hai ki mai unke sath aaj ghar nahi jaungi!

Anuj: unka class kaha hai?

Anupama: Bas yaha hi hai..

Anuj: Chalo phir, chalte hai!

Anupama and Anuj went to meet Bhavesh. His classroom was just a few blocks away. They went there and Anuj waited outside the class while Anupama went inside.

Anupama: Bhavesh bhai, aaj mai aapke sath ghar nahi jaungi..

Bhavesh: Kyu bhala?

Anupama: Bhaiya woh practice karne jaa rahi hu..dance ka..competition ke liye..

Bhavesh: Kiske ghar jaa rahi hai? Devika ke?

Anupama: Nahi..mera ek aur dost hai Anuj..hum dono wahi practice ke liye jaa rahe hai..

Bhavesh: Anuj..ladka..tum uske sath yeh dosti kab se shuru ki ho?

Anupama: Woh..kuch din hi gaye hai..

Bhavesh: Oh..accha..par Anu, mujhe pehle mila de iss Anuj se phir hu mai jaane dunga tujhe! Mai apni behen ko aise hi kisi ladke ke sath thode hu jaane de sakta hu!

Anupama: koi nahi! Anuj bahar hi khada hai! Abhi mila deti hu!

Anupama went out and brought Anuj inside without telling him the reason. Anuj was utterly perplexed when he was brought in front of Bhavesh. Anuj stood there in a little discomfort as he did not know what he was to talk about or even to whom he was talking to!

Anupama: Bhaiya, yeh hai Anuj! Anuj yeh mere bhai, Bhavesh.

Anuj: Hello..hello bhaiya..

Bhavesh: Hello Anuj..Anu ne mujhe bataya ki tum dono aaj tumhare ghar jaa rahe ho practice ke liye?

Anuj: Ji..aap chinta mat kijiye mai aapki behen ko time se wapis ghar le aunga..

Bhavesh: alright! And tum apna address bhi yaha likh dena, in case koi emergency ho toh hum Anu ko lene ke liye aa sa ke..

Anuj: Ji zarur..

Bhavesh took out one of his notebooks and kept it on the table. Anuj wrote down his address on Bhavesh's notebook and along with it wrote down his landline number as well.

Anuj: Bhaiya maine aapna address ke sath sath ghar ka number bhi de diya hai..aap chinta mat kijiye, aapki behen safe rahegi!

Anupama felt a little embarrassed and offended by her brother doubting Anuj and his intentions for taking Anu home. Her brother didn't know what a good man Anuj was. Somehow ever since she had met Anuj, she had this strong trust on him. She knew that Anuj didn't any bad intentions relating to her.

Anupama: Bhaiya ho tayegyu ne!

Bhavesh: Ho! Take care! Mujhe yaha thodi der aur rehna padega as ek aur class schedule ho gayi hai..take care and have a good practice! Milte hai phir..

Anupama: Ji Bhaiya..

Anupama and Anuj left Bhavesh there and headed outside. Anuj came out and caught a taxi for him and Anupama. They both sat inside and left for Kapadia Sadan.

They reached his house and Anupama was awestruck upon seeing his house. Anuj invited her inside his house. Anupama looked around after entering and she found his house very very beautiful. Then her eyes settled on the mandir in his house.

Anupama: Jai Shree Krishn 🙏

Anuj saw that Anupama folded her hands and did a 'pranam' towards the mandir.

Anuj: Anupama, aao na..

Anuj took Anupama near the mandir and brought the aarti ki thali near her.

Anuj: mumma ne aaj subah hi aarti ki hai Kanha ji ki, aarti le lo..

Anupama took the aarti and smiled at Anuj who had turned back at the mandir for keeping the aarti ki thali and bringing the prasad.

Anuj: Aur yeh lo, prasad..

Anupama took the prasad and ate it. Then Anuj took Anupama to the sofa and brought water for her. Anupama drank the water and then looked around a little.

Anupama: Aapka ghar bohot hi sundar hai!

Anuj: thank you! 😊

Anupama: waise, aap apna guitar le aiye ne, mai dance ki practice kar lungi aur aap apne guitar bajane ki!

Anuj: Sure! Abhi laya..aur sath hi sath me mai tumhare dance ke liye gaana bhi le aata hu, upar rakha hoga..ek minute bas, abhi laya mai!

Anuj ran up and brought down his CD and his guitar. He came and kept the guitar on the single seater sofa which was next to Anupama and inserted the CD.

Anuj: Anupama, tum ab aaram se apni practice kar sakti ho..and if you want toh mai bhi andar kamre me chala jaata hu, tum akele practice kar lo..

Anupama: arre nahi nahi! Mujhe yaha akele practice karne me dar lagega..bohot hi bada jagah hai, aap yahi rahiye ne, aap apna practice karte karte mera bhi dekh lijiyega! Aur phir waise bhi mai pehle aapki practice thodi si sunn ke hi shuru karungi!

Anuj: Aisa kyu?

Anupama: mujhe bhi jann na hai ki aap kaisa bajate hai!

Anuj: Oh! Sure, kyu nahi..but jo tune diya hai bajane ko woh thode practice ke baad hi sunna sakta hu..soo if you want..mai tumhe koi aur gaana sunna du?

Anupama: Koi bhi chalega!

Anuj thought for a while which tune to play. Only the romantics songs were coming to his mind but he knew if he played a very abvious romantic song then she might feel uncomfortable. He thought for a while and reached to the conclusion. Anuj started playing the cords to a melodious song originally sung by Kishore Kumar, the legendary singer. Anupama enjoyed the song since the moment it started playing.

Anupama: Yeh toh Kishore da ka gaana hai ne..woh..kya naam tha iss gaane ka..mere hisab se yeh Neele Neele Ambar Par hai na?!

Anuj nodded. It was indeed the song 'Neele Neele Ambar Par' that Anuj was playing.

He found this song to be very romantic yet not very explicitly conveying his feelings for Anupama or making her uncomfortable there with him. He stopped playing after the first stanza.

Anupama: Kyu rok diya?

Anuj: arre! Practice nahi karna?

Anupama: Ho! Karna hai ne! Par Anuj, aap khi jaana mat, mujhe na thoda sa dar lag raha hai yaha akele..

Anuj: Pakka..Accha ab Anupama, chalo tum dance practice shuru karo aur mai yeh cords dekh leta hu..yeh lo, I'll start the song for you.

Anuj stood up from there and so did Anupama. She had already taken off her shoes and worn her ghungroo. The moment Anuj started the song, Anu started moving to the beat. Anuj cane and sat down there with his guitar and music sheet.

Anuj: (in his mind)

"Nazakat se uthti hai uski yeh ankhe,
Ki mai kho baitha hu apni hi yeh rahe..
Husn ka naam gaata hai uska ang ang,
Jee chahta hai ki rahu sada mai tere sang sang.."

Anupama, mai tumhe abhi bhi chodne ka sooch tak nahi sakta....yeh baat sirf mera dil jaanta hai, ki mai tumse kitna pyar karne laga hu..yaha tak ki mai khud nahi jaanta ki kab aur kaise ho gaya..par itna zarur jaanta hu ki yeh silsila zindagi bhar rahega..
