Chapter 12:Dance ki tayari

The next day morning, Anuj came to college, once again late. There was something about morning and Anuj that just didn't match. He could stay up all night but waking up every morning was something which he aways used to mess up with. As usual he and a few other boys were told to stay outside the class.

Boy1: Kya hai yaar yeh!

Boy2: bakwas hai yaar yaha ke rules!

Anuj: I agree! Poori ki poori system hi kharab hai!

Boy3: Ek dum sahi! Well..you are Anuj right?

Anuj: Ji! Hello! Nice to meet you! Aap?

Boy3: Mera naam Pankaj hai! Nice to meet you! Aur yeh Vivek hai mere bachpan ka dost!

Boy1: Aur mai Karan hu, nice to meet you all!

Anuj: well abhi toh we're out of the class so.. now what?

Karan: Now what kya? Chalo! Let's go from here! Idhar thodi khade rahenge hum!

Pankaj: Exactly! Anuj, you also join us na!

Anuj: ummm...theek hai! Let's go!

The boys went out and roamed inside the college for that entire period. They only returned after the professor had left. Anuj saw that Anupama was closing her notebook. A strand of her hair had come loose from her braid and was falling on her face. Anuj adored looking at her. He slowly approached her.

Anuj: Hello Anupama..Kaisi ho?

Anupama: Anuj! Aap aa gaye! Aaj aapko phir deri ho gayi ne?

Anuj: Ha woh..(chuckles) woh kya hai na, mai thoda late uth gaya aaj..

Anupama: Yeh lijiye, mere notes le lijiye aap. Aapko zarurat padegi..

Anuj: Thank you Anupama...waise, aaj ki practice ki tayari kar li tumne?

Anupama: Aur nahi toh kya! Aaj humara waise toh koi bhi lecture free nahi hai, par ha 2 ghante ka break zarur hai..bas uss hi me kar lenge..

Devika interrupted their conversation. Although she hated to do it, but there was an important information to be passed on to the both of them.

Devika: Guys, sorry to interrupt but aaj humare committee ki meeting hai after our classes are over, so please ek aur ghante ruk jaana aaj classes ke baad. Aur ha Anu, tera dress wagerah bhi toh lena hai dance ke liye!

Anupama: Arre ha! Mai toh bhool hi gayi thi! Lehenga pehenke thodi na uss gaane pe dance ho payega..

Devika: And my dear Anu, tere liye jewelry bhi leni hai! Well, tu lucky hai ki tujhe mere jaisi dost mili hai! You don't worry and focus on your practice and I'll arrange them all!

Anupama: Thank you Devika..thank you!

Devika: arre koi baat nahi! But ha, mujhe Anuj, tumhari madad chahiye hogi, mai saara akele thodi khareed sakti hu!

Anuj: Theek hai agar Anupama ko koi problem na ho toh..

Anupama: Koi nahi..Magar aapko koi problem na ho toh hi..

Devika: Abbe yaar! Tum dono bhi na! Kitne formal hote ho ek doosre se! Chal na Anuj! Kuch nahi hoga! Aaj Anu tu apne ghar me practice karle, Anuj hum jaldi se jaake le aayenge theek hai?

Anuj: Theek hai!

Then the teacher came and they all sat down. The classes ended and in between the classes whenever they were free, Anupama and Anuj went to practice. The day ended and Anupama left to her house and Devika along with Anuj went off for shopping.

Anuj and Devika were in the market searching for the perfect dress for Anupama.

Anuj: Devika..mujhe Lana zaruri tha?

Devika: Yes! Isiliye zaruri tha because I've been noticing you, and I think ki tumhe Anu se pyaar ho gaya hai!

Anuj: M..m..mujhe! Kya baat kar rahi ho!

Devika: bakwas mat karo Anuj! Mai na inn mamlo me bohot hi shatir hu! So, chalo ab, tell me the truth!

Anuj: Woh.. woh..Devika..

Devika: mai sunn rahi hu!

Anuj: Woh..woh dekho! Ek accha shop lag raha hai! Chalo waha!

Anuj successfully avoided Devika, for now. Theu entered the place and there were many beautiful dresses and Devika liked a few of them as well but Anuj discarded them all. Anuj wanted something very beautiful to complement Anupama's beauty. They searched in around 10 stores. Devika was tired of searching by now.

Devika: I think tumhe apne sath laake maine bohot badi galti ki Anuj!

Anuj: Arre kyu?

Devika: beacuse tumhe toh koi bhi dress Anu ke liye aachi hi nahi lag rahi! Ab mai kya jawab dungi Anu ko? Usse kya kahungi? Sab tumhari galti hai Anuj!

Anuj: Devika tum chinta mat karo, kal tak dress mil jayegi Anupama ki..

Devika: I'm trusting on you! Tumhare chalte chalte maine Anu ke liye koi jewelry tak nahi li! Ab Anuj tum sab kuch arrange kar ke le aana!

Anuj: Theek hai Devika! Yeh Ab meri responsibility hai! Tum chinta mat karo ab!

Anuj dropped Devika till a taxi and left from there. He went and searched a few more store and he just couldn't find the one.. he then went ahead and headed to his mother's designer friend after consulting his mother. Anuj reached her boutique and started explaining everything to her. Soon the design was ready and then Anuj called up Devika for the measurements of Anupama and Devika gave them to him. Anuj handed over the job to the designer friend of his mother's and left to his home. The designer had told Anuj to come to her boutique before heading to his college and promised him that the dress would be ready by then.

Anuj reached home and found his mother between her jewelry. He was confused.

Anuj: Ma, yeh aap kya kar rahi hai? Kahi bahar jaa rahi hai aap?

Damini: Anuj..yeh wala kaisa hai? Ya phir yeh wala? Nahi nahi..yeh wala perfect hoga!

Anuj: Mumma! Kis occasion ke liye aap jewelry dhoondh rahi hai?

Damini: Apne liye nahi! Mai toh..

Anuj: Mukku ke liye?

Damini: Nahi pagle!

Anuj: toh? Mere liye?!?!

Damini: uffo! Kya karu mai iss ladke ka!

Anuj: toh mumma? Agar aapke liye nahi hai, Mukku ke liye nahi hai, mere liye nahi hai, papa ke liye toh hoga nahi toh kya GK ke liye hai?

Damini: Anuj..beta tum apna dimag ko itna tang mat karo, aaj subah se bohot kaam kar chuka hai. Ek minute apne muh ko rest do aur meri poori baat sunno..yeh jewelry mai tumhari woh ladki ke liye dhoondh rahi hu..kya naam bataya tha tumne uska? A..an..Anupama..haina?

Anuj was unable to believe that his mother was actually fond jewelry for Anupama to wear along with the dress tomorrow. Helooked at his mother in disbelief.

Anuj: Aap mazak kar rahi hai na?

Damini: arre! Bhala mai aisa bhadda mazak kab se karne lagi? Mai bhi chahti hu ki uska dance bohot hi accha jaye, aur ek ladki ko sabse zyada confidence milta hai apne family aur dosto se, aur uske baad apne shringar se..isiliye mai chahti hu ki woh sabse sundar dikhe aur woh sabse accha jewelry bhi le..isiliye mai apne jewelry me se dhoondh rahi hu..tu bhi dekh..

Anuj came to his mother and hugged her tight. His mother was first confused but then understood Anuj's feelings and hugged his back. She kissed him on his cheek and the mother-son duo sat down to search for the perfect jewelry.
