Wang Lei turned a deaf ear to their cries but suddenly Elder Shui mentioned that Old Master Wang would get disappointed in him which triggered Wang Lei's wrath.

"How dare you use my grandfather against me!" Wang Lei even threw a lamp toward Elder Shui who did not dodge it and it hits him right on the forehead. Elder Shui was known to have a steel body that rivalled Elder Huo as nothing could hurt them but because Wang Lei used 50% of her strength, there was a bruise and cuts from where he got hit.

"!" Wang Lei stood in place as she expected Elder Shui could easily avoid the item but he choose not to as he knew it was not right to bring up Old Master Wang to fight against Wang Lei. (A/N: Please do not hit your elders. In fact, don't hit anyone unless its for self-defence)

Not wanting to deal with the problem, Wang Lei orders Li De to treat Elder Shui as she went to her room and decided to grab a drink.

What they said was not wrong as they were worried about the Clan's future and what would happen should Wang Lei...

Wang Lei herself already thought that if anything happened to her then the Clan could either continue with another leader who was not from the Wang family or disband but should the clan disband, Wang Lei had the feeling Old Master Wang would rise from the grave and beat her up for ruining their family's legacy.

So it wasn't unusual that once the previous elders heard about her plan to fight with the Xiang, they would ask her to reconsider as there was no successor that could take her place if anything happened.

They had already lost Old Master Wang and they did not want to lose Wang Lei as well.

On the next day, Wang Lei called the Elders for another meeting.

"What would you want me to do?" she asked.

The elders shared a look and Elder Jin was the first to speak up as he said, "You must bear a child to be your heir. Until then, you should refrain from endangering yourself".

"We have already chosen a few women for you", replied Elder Tu. "They are chosen based on their background and looks".

A stack of documents containing various details of women was then placed in front of Wang Lei who did not bother to even look at them and told them that she needed time to think.

Wang Lei then went back to her room for another drink and there was a knock on the door but Wang Lei did not bother so the door was opened and Li De barged in.

When Wang Lei saw Li De she couldn't help but ask him, "Did you know this was going to happen after you told them about the plans?"

Li De had already positioned himself in a 'seiza' position and said, "I did not know this would happen" honestly.

"They told me to get married and have a child..." Wang Lei laughed while Li De was silent. "If only they knew huh? How long do you think this facade can last?"

After a few minutes of silence, Li De decides to speak up and said, "You can have a child, Master Wang. Technology has gotten advanced that all you need to do is find someone to carry it for you".

"So you are asking me to get married then? How will I explain to my wife why we can't make love if she asks about it? And if we find a surrogate, how would we know the mother won't search for them afterwards? What would I even tell the child?" Wang Lei couldn't help but feel bitter as she did not want to bring any victims just for their whims and satisfaction. She did know however that sooner or later she needed a child to become her replacement in the future.

And when she thinks about it which child was willing to take her place as the future master of the Wang Family and Clan? Would they even want it? Just like she did?

"How troublesome", Wang Lei sighs and retires for the night without knowing that news of her marriage was taking place outside.

Since Elder Tu had contacted some matchmakers and Madams of respectable households, everyone knew that his grandson already had a fiance and speculated that this was for someone else. And only person they could think of was the young and noble Master Wang who was single and an adult that reached marriageable age (A/N: Wang Lei is only 21 years old atm. Whatchu means by marriageable age huh).

After 3 days of thinking, Wang Lei decided to entertain the Elders' ideas by attending their matchmaking process. But the condition was that Wang Lei will have the final say and of course, after the dates had ended, Wang Lei told the other party that she was not interested and by then the elders notice what their master was doing as they stopped urging him. But they did concoct another plan.

Now, Wang Lei did consider telling the others the truth about her real gender but Old Master Wang once told her to never let the truth be out and even Li De was instructed by her grandfather to keep her real identity a secret.

Had Old Master Wang been still alive, Wang Lei was certain he could delay the other elder's plans of matchmaking. Wang Lei could not help but miss her grandfather at the moment but what else could she do now?

Throughout the week, Wang Lei was finally fed up with matchmaking as she had to meet one person at a time which she felt was time-wasting. Since the elders expected this, they told her that they would organize a matchmaking party where the women that they have chosen would meet Wang Lei all at once and once he found someone he likes then they'd end it.

Wang Lei urged them that this was their final chance and since she even offered the mansion to be used to show her support in this plan just to please the elders. The mansion's location was not exactly a secret as well since most of their enemies already knew about it but Wang Lei never moved out as the house was said to be the legacy of their previous generation. If they couldn't even defend their home then what was the use of having one, right?

So... I kept remembering my friend who mentioned that humans, just the females can actually reproduce by themselves and I remembered reading the article where two women successfully had their own child which contained their own genes but of course it was costly. But this was Wang Lei we're talking about her and Li De is a renowned genius in the field of medicine so this would be easy for them both.
