I was sitting in my chair behind my desk at the facility when I got a text from Remy.

'be home before breakfast, we have something important to discuss'. He sent this to the group chat so I'm not sure what could be relevant to everyone.

I close my laptop, finally finishing some documents that Remy had me take a look at. I mostly handle all the legal and coverup aspects within the mafia so Remy almost always has a stack of things for me to look over and get my opinion on.

Once I look at the time and notice that it's 5:46 am I scramble to get out to my car and head back to the house, hoping I'm not late for the family meeting.

Once I reached the penthouse I park in the underground and head up through the elevator. Once I get inside the lights are still out so I head to my room and into my washroom to take a shower.

After I'm finished my morning routine, I pick out dress pants and shoes and a grey soft sweatshirt and head towards the kitchen. Along the way I smell espresso but once I reach the kitchen no one is there.

I press my hand against the espresso machine and it's still warm, someone must have used it not long ago but I thought everyone was still asleep. I shrugged off my thoughts as I made myself an espresso.

After about 10 minutes I heard a pairs of footsteps. Remy and the twins entered the kitchen, Remy wearing his regular suit pants and shoes but with a brown soft sweatshirt type thing that's just like mine and the twins groggily following behind him bickering about some useless shit.

They all joined me at the table outside on the patio overlooking the street and the twins began to quiet down.

"So as you are all aware I went on a trip to New York recently to meet with someone"

We all nodded

"Well I wasn't exactly telling the truth. I did go to New York but not for that. I had recently gotten a call from a police station regarding someone who they thought was Roman. After we talked I was sent DNA results from a test they took confirming that it was our Roman, so I immediately got on the plane to New York. I didn't tell you guys because even though their DNA results came up positive I needed to see her with my own eyes to make sure they were right, I didn't want to tease you guys with the possibility and have it come out wrong. After I got there and met her I had no doubt that the results were correct, so I signed her guardianship documents and she came back with me here" Remy finished his long explanation.

We all sat there shocked, trying to absorb everything Remy just said.

The twins started shooting questions at Remy repeatedly. I just sat in my seat frozen. She's back, she's really back. How could Remy not tell me, of all people. We've been through so much together and I thought we were closer than this, I though we were closer than to keep secrets from each other. I guess I was wrong.

Just then I heard the espresso machine turn on quietly, I look up towards my brothers seeing all of them still there and turn my head towards the kitchen confusedly. I lean back in my seat and caught a glimpse of long wavy brown hair being blown back from the open window. A smell of wildflowers drifted towards me. Still in a daze the girl turned towards me and stilled.

It was Roman, our Roman. She was older now and had obviously grown much taller, maybe around 5.9' but she had a tiny frame, her body was enveloped in baggy clothes that hung off her, she had a few tattoos poking out from underneath her sweatshirt onto her hands and she looked pale and dim.
