Headcanon: Being the Only Girl in an Idol Group (Male!A-rise)

A/N: So I guess this is becoming a little series now hm?  Ahahah, discretion aside! This is my first A-rise shot for this book I think.  I'll have to make a category for this group.  ALSO!  If you've read the Muse version of this headcanon, you'll see that Tsubasa was mentioned to be a female in a female trio group.  I let this happen because I didn't think I was ever going to be making this kind of AU for A-rise.  Alas, we are here with this predicament lol.  So, I think I'll just have to edit Sumi (Muse's Reader) and her story, just changing Tsubasa's gender to male.  And since Muse was the first co-ed group in this universe, I'll have to adjust the storyline for A-rise a little.  Just wanted to make that clear, feel free to proceed now. :)

• you joined the company about a year after A-rise officially debuted
• you were 18 years old at the time
• a bit later than you intended to join a company
• but that was the only way your parents would let you become a trainee
• the condition for them was for you to have graduated high school before pursuing the career of a performer
• luckily, they allowed you to take lessons in performing arts
• so by the time you were a trainee
• you were pretty well-versed in singing, dancing, and acting
• 4 months into being a trainee and you were already considered as a candidate for the position as female member for a project group called Muse
• unfortunately you weren't chosen
• probably due to your short training period
• nevertheless, you continued to train rather rigorously in hopes of debuting
• it would only be a year and a half later when you were once again considered for a co-ed position in a group
• except this time
• it'd be for a group that was already debuted
• A-rise
• upon seeing the attention that Muse garnered because of their female member
• Snow Entertainment decided to kick it up a notch
• A-rise was relatively successful around this time
• known for their techno-style rhythm and theme
• but they lacked one thing
• a rapper
• now
• you've never exactly been the rapping type
• you'd been trained in singing, dancing, and acting
• but not rapping
• you weren't sure if you'd have the aura to pull it off
• and it was a risky move
• to join a group that's already pretty much established in the idol world
• fans wouldn't like you
• it would be too obvious that you were placed into the group as a cheap marketing strategy
• but
• you were nearing your 21st year
• and you weren't sure if you were ever going to debut at this point
• so..
• you accepted it
• it was...hard
• at first
• but before we get into the difficulties
• let us establish the new profiles :))
• Anji Yūki: oldest (19 at the time of initial debut // now 22), main vocal, lead dancer
• Tsubaso Kira: leader, lead vocal, lead dancer, center, face of the group
• you: main rapper, lead singer, lead dancer
• Eren Tōdō: youngest (17 at the time of initial debut // now 20), main dancer, visual
• ok so now that that's settled
• adjusting to the group was a lot of pressure for you
• these boys had been working together for almost four years already
• they've established their harmony
• both literally and figuratively
• what were you exactly supposed to add??
• it wasnt like they needed an official rapper
• maybe you were in over your head
• this process of overthinking is what made it esp hard for you to open up to the members
• you were all around the same age
• but u still felt so unfit
• the members of arise themselves actually didnt mind your presence much
• yes it was all kind of unconventional
• but then again
• idol life wasnt exactly supposed to be a smooth sail of the boat
• so they figured that they'd at least try to get to know u
• but
• you were making it so hard
• curt answers
• constant avoidance
• jumpiness
• the constant discomfort you felt was so apparent
• and it made them feel bad for u
• but what could they do?
• tsubaso was stubborn tho
• as leader he felt obligated to welcome you into the group
• which is why he planned a surprise birthday party for u
• the boys bought a little cake
• with candles and everything
• bought a little banner too
• decorated the practice room
• the whole shebang
• when you walked in you were like,, what?? my birthday's not for another half a year??
• the way tsubaso explained it was
• the party was for your birth as an arise member
• ngl you couldnt help but melt a little at the gesture
• you didnt say anything at first
• cs like,, what could you say???
• you had been practically shunning these boys ever since you began to prepare for your first comeback with them
• and they continued to be sweet to you
• making it extremely difficult to distance yourself
• so you didnt rlly say anything
• you just..
• well
• you basically just cried
• immediate panic
• immediate wee-woos
• sirens
• they were all like
• "OMG WE MADE HER CRY TSUBASO THIS IS ALL UR FAULT"
• "my fault?? you bought the damn candles for the cake!"
• soon enough you were able to regain composure long enough to disregard what just happened
• you explained that you were just overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness
• that you didn't deserve any good treatment for the cold shoulder youd been giving for weeks
• cue a whole ass confession session
• the boys made you realize that you didnt need to subject yourself to a name that wasnt even determined yet
• why punish yourself over a crime you only think youve committed or will commit?
• then youre like "huh. didnt think of it that way."
• that night, the boys made a promise to stick by you no matter what the world had to say
• and while you hate to admit it
• you...found comfort in their words
• the only question was whether or not it would all hold up
• your debut in the group was...well
• as good as could be expected
• very mixed reactions
• some didnt see the point in your presence
• some marked you as a resort to keep the group relevant after Muse's big boom in the industry
• some just thought you were really pretty
• some admired your aura and such
• most thought it wouldve been better to debut you as a solo artist
• but you forced yourself to brush away the words of others
• tried to remember who was by your side and would actually help you
• it took about a few months for you to safely mark yourself in the group
• much helped by arise's new album that you debuted in
• one of the highest grossing albums ever
• was it bc of your rap?
• was it bc of your addition to the group?
• was it bc of the concept?
• was it just luck?
• who knows really
• all you knew was
• the boys ended up saving your ass
• or rather, their relationship with you
• you guessed that seeing their idols accept you so well helped them to accept you as well
• you & tsubaso quickly become the fandom's OTP
• he's always looking after you so well as leader
• despite only being months older
• always patting your head
• always looking at you with a broad smile in little videos
• always willing to listen to your problems and help you no matter what
• such a prince charming type
• and youre super outspoken about how thankful you are for your leader
• and hes so outspoken about how proud he is of your accomplishments
• all around sweetnessssss
• you really do see him as a dependable older brother
• as for anju,,
• he likes teasing the shit out of you
• you look so composed most of the time
• so its super funny for anju when he says something that trips you up
• and you're super easy to trip up
• he does this little giggle when you start to freak out
• and all you can do is flush and stand there cs
• what can you say?
• you weren't prepped for this type of stuff
• but don't worry, he's not always teasing you
• he loves to dote on you
• always buying you things
• -mostly cs you always blush whenever he gives stuff to you
• always pokes your cheek
• always calls you his baby
• you almost cant stand to be around him sometimes bc he's jst ruining you every chance he gets
• eren is the only member thats actually just chill
• when you need a break from the other two's overly-coddling personalities
• you seek our eren
• a very wise man
• always there to give advice when tsubaso's not around
• your relationship with him doesn't show much onstage and on camera
• but its probably better that way
• after all, your relationship with eren is very lowkey and comfortable
• almost like...
• like a grandpa
• LMAO
• overall
• youre just thankful for these boys
• the road to stardom was rough
• esp for you
• but thanks to their love and support
• you managed to get through it all
• FAST FORWARD
• everybody has kinda forgotten that you were a late addition to the group
• you're one of the most well-renowned rappers in the industry at this point
• and you are BESTIES with sumi from muse
• yall have this little TV segment that is very popular in modern day
• since both arise and muse have taken hiatuses from the idol world to work on solo projects
• you and sumi spend a lot of time together
• you two often talk about past idol life in your little tv segments
• and its all so crazy cs you bring up the past
• and ur just like "damn we've come a LONG way"
• but yes
• you love your boys more than anything in the world
• and they love you
• and at the end of the day
• that's really all you need
• not such a bad turn out for the Rap Queen of Japan
• p.s. yes, arise celebrates your "A-Rise Birthday" every year so you have two birthdays every year
