"Hey Toms, why the fuck are there no sheep around for me to harvest wool," Deo says the minute he steps outside. "Ah yeah that. Dream killed them all after I made my bed, so you'll have to either go exploring to find them or wait till he shows up to give you some," Tommy replies mindlessly, staring at the sea ahead of him like it holds the answers to all of his questions.
"That... that's not good. Sheep are also a source of food, everyone knows that," Deo says, silently questioning Dream and his morals. "Mm. Dream doesn't care. You've seen what L'manburg is now. Would you believe that he gave Wilbur the TNT that was used on that horrid day," he asks, voice wavering at the mention of his older brother.
"That's one thing. There was a war that no one will tell me about, and alls fair in love and war, but killing sheep, one of your few sources of food? That's entirely different," Deo points out, completely unaware of the effect that L'manburgs destruction had on Tommy.
"Maybe so. In all honesty it's kind of deserved, isn't it? It's just part of my punishment,  and it's an opportunity for me to learn something," he states, almost like he was reading lines off a script. "Tommy," Deo's voice is firm, the kind that suggests that you're making a dangerous move and you better think twice about what you do next when a parent yells at you, "what could you possibly learn from starvation?"
"How to survive on my own. How to find my own food, and how to memorise the geographical elements of my surroundings," Tommy says, almost as monotonous as a person reading lottery numbers. "Do you even know what the last one means," Deo asks, finding it very hard to believe he knew such things.
Silence passes between the two, calm and in sync with the second hand of the clock that they don't have. "Nope," Tommy replies, popping the P as he does so. "That's what I thought. Honestly though, you spend enough time here you could hike your way out to a new place, maybe even manage to find an entirely new village and city to live in, and maybe even an even harder to find 'backdoor,' to the server," Deo tells him.
"I could if I had the determination to do so. My will to live has been diminishing day by day, and I don't have the proper materials to actually survive in the wild. Let alone have enough wood to make a boat and sail away. No matter what I do I can't leave. He'll find me one way or another. He'll find me and kill me. Every option I have has been reduced to just simply dying, because what's else can I do at this point," Tommy spoke, devoid of all hope, almost like a cloud had covered the sun.
"That was then, this is now. You have me here, and I'll get tools and such for you, without Dream's knowledge okay? He can't do anything with me here, because if he did I'd be able to run and get help from the citizens of L'manburg. My story would be more believable than his. If he tries to hunt you down while we're on the run, he will fail, because I am and always have been your right hand man, and if you're order is for me to protect you, then I will do so until I die," he's now a motivational speaker, and he hopes his pep talk worked on Tommy.
"Was- was an entire speech necessary," he asks, completely bewildered by his husband's antics. "Well...yeah," Deo exclaims dejectedly, "You were being all sad and depressing. I had to do something," he explains defensively. "Mhm. You go look for sheep so you can have your own bed, sleep in mine again and I will be harvesting your organs in your sleep," Tommy threatens lovingly.
