"Oooh, I'd love some cake right now!" Umbrella chirped.

"You can keep the cake, I'd rather have the gold." Nadia replied,

"Glory's all I'll ever need, really." Beowulf piped up.

[Boomstick: But they couldn't have done it without a little help.

Wiz: The sidekick. The people's champion would be lost without his player 2.]

"Yeah, Filia's a pretty good player two." Samson chuckled. Filia pouted.

[Wiz: Such as Luigi, Mario's younger brother.

Boomstick: And Tails the Fox, Sonic's deformed flying stalker.]

"Deformed? Aside from the second tail, he looks perfectly fine. Is society really so cruel?" Marie asked.

"Uh... We uh...have people in our freak show for less..." Cerebella said awkwardly.

"Of course you do." Nadia snorted. "Bet you have ferals and dagonians in there just because they're ferals and dagonians. And they get the most crap thrown their way!" Cerebella cringed in shame.

"I never said I was okay with it..."

"You told me you love a good freak show. The second you saw me. Thanks for that, by the way, bitch." Carol growled. Cerebella covered her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Carol, I really don't know why I said something like that... Guess it's because I didn't know who you were..."

"Whatever. Not too keen on taking apologies from someone that's blindly loyal to the family that indirectly led me to turn into this thing." Carol grunted. Cerebella frowned deeply.

[Wiz: Now we have already proven that standard Mario and Sonic series power-ups perfectly counter each other, so, to not waste time, we're giving these second strings only what unique to them.]

"Aww... I wanted to see the Frog Suit again." Umbrella pouted.

[Wiz: After clobbering Koopas, besting Bowser, and saving the princess, who gets all the credit?

"Not every hero's out for those kinds of rewards! Some just wanna do the right thing!" Beowulf bellowed.

[Wiz: No doubt, Luigi has it rough. Despite being born as one of the seven Star Children destined for greatness, it's not easy being second fiddle to the most popular character in video game history, yet he doesn't seem to mind. Like a good sidekick, Luigi exists only to help Mario, never asking for his own slice of the cake.]

"I think they're speaking metaphotically, Wulf." Annie piped up.

"Oh. Well hey... cake is good."

[Boomstick: So he's pretty much a slave.

Wiz: In a way, but this devotion makes him the perfect teammate, helping to save the Mushroom Kingdom time and time again.]

"Ah come on, the guy just wants to help his big bro out! Either that or he keeps getting dragged in against his will..." Peacock chuckled.
