REMEMBER

1 MONTH LATER

      "Mom"  a meek voice echoed in the silent room scared

  " Hmmm" the mom's voice muffled still half asleep

   " Mom" the voice repeated louder

    The mom slowly raises her head up from the bed still half asleep, but the sight of her daughter brings her immediately out of her slumber.

   " Ashley" the mom asks shocked and happy tears filling her vision immediately.

   " Mom where am I ? What happened?" she asks confused 

  " Ashley, mom" Blake said bewildered

     " Blake go get the doctor" the mom said not taking her eyes off her daughter

  " Mom what's going on? Why am I in the hospital" Ashley asks now panicked  

" Baby, it's gonna be okay. Just calm down and wait for the doctor okay while i call your dad" she says palming her head.

  " No mom don't leave me" Ashley says holding her mom's hand tightly staring at her with scared eyes

   " Don't worry baby i'm not going anywhere, okay" she says sitting on the bed next to Ashley.

  Mrs Brookes calls her husband while holding her daughter. As soon as she drops the call the doctor comes in with a nurse in tow.

  " Hello Ashley, my name is Dr. Rodriguez. How are you feeling today" the doctor asks with a smile on his face as he comes closer

  " I'm confused and i feel a sore" 

" Why am i here, what's going on" she asks confused after answering the doctor.

  " What's the last thing you remember Ashley" the doctor asks with a small smile using a  torch to check her pupils

      ( I'm not sure what that pen torch thing is really called so:) )

" Well yesterday me and Adrianna my best friend went for coffee and we were talking about  drafting a partnership contract with Ramos industries. By the way where is Adri" she says looking around the room.

        The sudden loud cry from her mum jerks stops her search. she then looks around the room to see everyone looking at her with sad and pitiful eyes.

" Why are you guys looking at me like that?" she asks confused 

 Just as the doctor was about to speak up the door of the room opened revealing her father, Adrianna and Taylor.

   " Princess, thank God I've missed you so. much" her father said hugging her 

    " I've missed you to dad" 

 " Sir i know this is an exciting moment but i have to make sure everything is alright with your daughter" the doctor said putting a hand on the fathers shoulder in a way that says please excuse us.

   " Ashley what is today's date?"

" What sort of a question is that?" the father asks wondering why the check up involves asking about the date

  " Honey just...." Mrs Brookes say to her husband with tears in her eyes

" Dad it's okay. Since yesterday was 15th, that makes today the 16th of October, 2021" she says confidently 

 Hearing this her mum burst into tears while her dad staggers back a few steps like her words physically affected him. He couldn't believe his baby girl could not remember almost a whole year. He was not able to protect her, she can't remember her own children.
