"Throw the guys out, ladies!" An aunty
Cheered and everyone laughed.  Arjun and rudra bhaisa, looked at  ansh bhaisa, who left quitely when told to leave but "you guys learn something from ansh bhaisa" kriti ( one of Arya's cousin ) said playfully smacking Arjun's shoulder.

"Why this discrimination bhuasa (father's sister), please tell kriti to let us stay? we are not even married, we are boys not men?" Rudra said as he made a pouty expression and ladies laughed.

"Because you're not married that's why we will give you the permission to sit inside the function but you have to promise to dance as a bride" Arjun nodded while ansh shook his head in disappointment. "Come let's sit there, don't go anywhere and try to stay away from anyone and everyone's attention, okay?" Arya said as she grabbed my hand made me sit together with her beside the bride.

I smiled at the way she clutched my hand in her tiny one, she's still a teenager!

I sat in my place and froze for a second "rumble* my stomach made a noise indicating that it needed food. I looked around to see if someone noticed and my gaze stopped at Arya who stared at me blankly. She stood up and I grabbed her hand immediately, it was not a good idea to bring food for me between the function.

"You don't need to, i can control it for the time being" i said trying to convince her.

"What are you saying?  I need to have a talk with someone. Stay here." Arya said as she disappeared in the crowd.

What..!?

I felt even more embarassed and I tried to calm myself. How dumb of me to make assumptions like these, i Don't even know her well...!

"Kaya!" I jumped in surprise when i felt someone say my name to me. I turned around and found arjun bhaisa looking at me with a smile and his hand had a plate of jalebi( Indian sweet) "i suppose i should give this to the beautiful lady beside me" Arjun looked around as he pretended to find the 'pretty lady' as he came to sat by my side. I laughed at his antics, he was a funny guy!

I saw maasa and some of the ladies whose faces i knew come in the centre as they started dancing while the singer sang their traditional ritual songs that i barely understood.

"What happened, are you confused about something? " Arjun baisa asked as he offered me a jalebi.

"Yea, you know. I think the lyrics are not very clear to me, can you explain what they are singing about?" I asked trying to convince him that it was because of noise that words were not clear to me. I was genuinely curious as to what the lyrics of the song contained. The bride , devika di was blushing as the ladies teased her.

It's not common for a person from the future to witness all this, i considered myself to lucky to be able to experience all this.

"Don't worry I'll explain every bit of the song to you" Arjun bhaisa said bringing out his man charisma."so the ladies are actually teasing the bride about her married life, sometimes making fun of the groom's side family.....
...." Arjun kept explaining and i felt relieved to have this natural translator beside me.

AUTHOR'S POV
Kaya enjoyed the function and Arjun's company. She didn't even notice that to the entrance of the big hall stood arya, a big tray in her hand which had bhujia and mirchi pakode(Indian food/snack) seeing Arjun and Kaya together made her feel unreasonably uneasy.

She brought food for her but didn't even waited for her...

She was definitely not jealous of Arjun, he was her brother but thought of them together made her feel uneasy...

"Jiji aren't you coming inside?" Kriti said braiding her hair, "ah ye-ss" arya hesitantly nodded and followed her.
