❥Xiao's POVꨄ

I followed Zhongli out the house.

"What is it you wish to speak to me about?" I asked as we stood at the porch.

"It's about Y/n."

"... Y/n's strong enough, they won't fall." I said firmly. I don't want to imagine Y/n falling, nor do I want to accept that they might.

"Sigh.. you still feel their karmic debt from all the way out here, don't you? Do not blind yourself from the truth, for this truth will bring you harm." It is true, I do feel the amount of Karmic debt they have from out here.

"I will do everything I can so they won't fall. I won't let another succumb the same fate. Especially not Y/n.."

Zhongli exasperated, "I understand that you're closest with them.. and the pain it would be live without them.-"

"I will bring them back if they fall, they said it themself, if there were anything in this world that can bring back it is me. They promised, and I know they would keep it even if they don't think that they can. Y/n's strong. You know that too. They have no vision but they fight with all their might. Should the time come.. please let me do what I can to bring them back." It's foolish of me to hold on their promise that I know they may not be able to keep.

Zhongli knows he can't change my mind so he just sighed and gave me a pat on the shoulders before turning to enter the house. I sat at the porch a little longer and looked up to the sky. They'll be fine.. I said to reassure myself.

I heard Aether's words as he talked to Y/n. "Xiao's... worried about you.. Zhongli told him that you will fall, and Xiao can't take that answer."

I didn't want to interrupt them so I stood downstairs while I waited. Soon after, Ricky came out and went straight to Y/n's room. There's something about this guy that seems so... familiar. But I don't remember where I could've seen him and I don't trust him. If I just followed him and stayed outside the room, I wouldn't interrupt them so I did just that.

❥Y/n's POV❦

"Ahem.. Ricky, let's get you something to eat. You must be famished." Aether interrupts. Aether motions to Ricky out the door but Ricky never moved, he just stared at me.

"I'm sorry F/n.. I don't know what came over me. But promise me that you'll keep what we talked about to yourself. .... Same goes for you Aether."

"It's.. fine. I think I know why you acted that way.. the Karma in those enemies could have affected you." I said as Ricky stood confused as he is not knowledgeable about Karma.

"Since Y/n is fine with it, then I will do as you asked." Aether said, "Come Ricky, let's get you something to eat." Ricky stood there for a brief moment before walking out the door. When Ricky was out, Aether gave a thumbs up seemingly to ask if I was ok. I gave him a thumbs up before he followed Ricky and closed the door.

I sat on the bed as my mind raced. Why didn't he tell me..? he knew from the start that that was the god that I was with.. Why didn't he tell me about it? I might've been mad at him but I wouldn't blame him, it wasn't his fault. I told him he to tell you, but he chose not to. Your 'friend' doesn't seem like a real friend, does he?

"Go away.." I mumbled out.

"...Sorry.." Huh? I looked up to see Xiao turning to leave. I hadn't notice that he entered.

"Xiao wait." Xiao looked back at me. Despite his face being stone cold, his sadness held in his eyes. "I wasn't telling you to go away. ... I was telling her.. to go away.."

"... Y/n.. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't know what you'd think of me of I did.."

"You heard my conversation with Ricky, didn't you?"

"I didn't trust him.. and I just-"

"You don't have to explain."

"...I'm sorry.." Xiao mumbled out. I looked over to him to see him resting his right hand on his left elbow as he looked down towards the floor. At this sight, I can't help but notice how vulnerable he looks and how much I just wanted to run to him and hug him.

".. Xiao I promise that this knowledge will not change anything between us. It's been centuries since then." Xiao doesn't respond.

"Thank you... Y/n.. " he says a few moments later. "I should leave, you haven't rest yet since I left." Xiao turns to leave before stopping in his track when I called him.

"Wait. Xiao. Can you.. stay with me?" My request surprised Xiao but he doesn't object. He grabbed a chair nearby and placed it beside my bed. I tucked myself to bed and when my head hits the pillow, a wave of exhaustion hit me, but for some reason.. I just couldn't sleep. I just laid there with my eyes closed and not having the energy to move.

In ia trice, I felt warmth on my hand and someone mumbled. "Out cold already.. ... I once said ɭש๏є ฬคร ςภ๏Ŧรยภเﻮ, but.. when I lost you.. I lost my รรєภє ๏Ŧ ๔๏гเςєՇเภ.. I couldn't do what I was told. My only priority was to find you and save you even if it meant that I had to ﻮשเє ยק ๓ץ ɭŦเє. I was เՇเгคг๏ภคɭ, if it weren't for a miracle to happen.. I would have probably died in the castle and failed to save you. I found you, and I don't want to ɭร๏є ץ๏ย again. เ ๔ภ๏'Շ ฬภคՇ ๓ץ ฬ๏ɭђє ฬг๏ɭ๔ Շ๏ Ŧɭคɭ คгקคՇ ɭเкє เՇ ๔เ๔ Ŧ๏г คՇєєђг... I JЦƧƬ ЩΛПƬ YӨЦ.." His words came to me in bits and pieces and I couldn't make out some words he was saying.

Seconds later, I felt him place his lips on mine and then whispered into my ear. "I.."
And everything went black.

I'm sorry for the late post TwT. I still have a weeks left of school before my holidays but SUMERU IS COMING AND I'M EXCITED! I had 100% Teyvat for sooo looong that I made 2 other accounts 𝔠𝔬𝔲𝔤𝔥.
