There were two things you have to know about Isobel Vera: 1.) She was practically Cobra Kai's star, and 2.) She loathes Miguel Diaz. But what more could you expect? One led Cobra Kai, the other led Eagle Fang. It was safe to say they were the epitome of rivals.
However with the All Valley coming up and every dojo fighting to come out on top, Izzy was given a bright idea. Sure, it was from her best friend and Izzy was against it at first, but she soon came to her senses and realized how smart it would be to fake date Miguel Diaz.
Picture it: karate rivals beginning to date who are going to fight at the All Valley tournament. The seats would be sold out to see the sudden new it-couple in school fight one on one, and John Kreese would learn to appreciate Izzy more than Robby Keene. It was the perfect publicity stunt.
Miguel on the other hand wasn't too confident in how much it would work, but if it would help him get over Samantha LaRusso, he was on board. So, that's how Miguel and Izzy ended up in their fake (I mean.. totally real) relationship.
All they had to do was fake date for a month, trick everyone into going, and then they would call it off at the tournament. No real feelings, that was the one thing they promised each other. Absolutely none.
They seemed to be doing fine for the first few days, but then things started to change. Miguel was the first to notice how nervous he started to get around Izzy, how much he started to look for her in crowded rooms, how everything started reminding him of her. That was when Miguel realized he had broke their promise — he was falling in love with Isobel Vera.
Izzy was just confused. She didn't know why she got so nervous and smiley around Miguel, she didn't know why all she could think about was him, she didn't know why she would willingly sneak out to see him. Izzy was in denial that she was in love with Miguel, because as far as she knew, he didn't feel the same.
They couldn't feel that way, right? It was supposed to be a fake relationship with fake feelings. So.. where the hell did they both go wrong and actually fall in love?
