Do you know that heart wrenching feeling, where your vision blackens and it feels as if the blood in your veins hardens into concrete? Like when your heart sinks so deep into your stomach that you wonder if it'll ever bounce back into your rightful chest cavity? When your mind is void of any thoughts other than the immense pain you're experiencing in that exact moment?

That's how you felt as you stared in awe into Hitch's hateful olive eyes. That's how you felt as you forcefully shoved past her, past Mikasa, past all of your other friends that were on the dance floor. That's how you felt when you stormed down the stairs and burst through the front door as you tried your best to decide what your best option for a ride home was. Eren? Fuck no. One of your friends? No, you were too embarrassed to face them again. Uber? Yeah, Uber. That'll work.

You paced and tried your best with shaky fingers to select the app and type in your information. As your phone was locating you, the shrill sound of your name came from the front door.

"Y/N! What are you doing?" Eren yelled, hurriedly racing to your side.

"Getting the fuck out of here. Get away from me," you commanded. You shrugged off his hand that tried to rest on your shoulder and didn't even bother to look up at him from your phone. You pretended to be focused on arranging the Uber, but the truth was that your mind was spinning and all it could manage was to press random buttons.

"What the fuck happened? You were fine two minutes ago!" he exclaimed. You were incredibly thankful that nobody else was outside with the two of you because of how cold it was. You didn't care that it was cold. You were numb.

You finally worked up enough courage to match his eye contact. His emerald eyes burned with concern, and his full eyebrows crinkled in frustration.

"Why don't you tell me what happened? How could you tell her?!"

"Tell who?! Tell them what?!" You couldn't help but scoff at his fictitious innocence.

"Don't treat me like I'm an idiot! Hitch just announced to the whole fucking house that I'm rich! No, she didn't just say rich, she announced that I'm a fucking millionaire! And that I didn't have to work to get into med school, that I just paid them off. Fucking fantastic," you groaned into your own hands. Your chest heaved up and down, becoming mildly out of control from panic at your situation.

This is what you've been trying to avoid. You were hardly able to last one semester without the word getting out. Maybe you were stupid for thinking you could pull this off. Maybe you were stupid to finally open up and let Eren in. He clearly didn't deserve your trust. If he didn't, then who did?

You took a few deep breaths in a feeble attempt to gain some control over your nerves, but it didn't work. "Babe, I can explain-" Eren began.

"Don't call me babe. We're done, Eren." You fought the tears threatening to spill from the corners of your tired eyes. You weren't going to cry, not here in front of him. You didn't want to give him or Hitch the satisfaction.

"You're not even going to let me tell you what happened?" he hissed. His hands ran through his sweat streaked hair in frustration, and you had to fight your eyes from staring at his bulging biceps.

"I don't need to hear your excuses. I trusted you. I fucking trusted you, Eren! And you fucking broke it!" your voice cracked. Without thinking he lifted his hands to your face, cupping your cheeks in desperation, pleading to you with the tortured look in his eyes.
