Chapter Fourteen:Helping the Orcas

NOVA'S P.O.V

  Elvis ran away, apparently Annie and Glen are trying to look for him right now,but I don't think that they've found him yet as they haven't returned.

  I was with Jesse and Dad because they made a medicine that could possibly help the orcas.
"Hey,there you are..come here boy" Jesse said to Willy.
"Yeah..that's it" He continued.
Jesse did the hand signal for Willy to open his mouth and Willy obliged,meaning that Luna and Little-spot would too.
Dad put the medicine in their mouths and onto their tongues.
"Good girl" I said smiling at Luna.
Dad then closed Lunas mouth and started singing.
The whales started yapping and weeping in response.
Dad finished as we started walking back.
"We've done everything in our power. All we can do now is sleep on it" Dad said.
"What if the spirits weren't here with us tonight?" I questioned.
"The spirits are always with us" Dad responded.
"Anyway Jesse..We'll see you tomorrow" Dad said hugging Jesse.
"Night Jess.." I said hugging him after dad.
"Night.." Jesse responded hugging back.

  The next day I was with Dr.Haley watching the orcas with binoculars.
Dad came up to us all of a sudden and stood beside Dr.Haley.
"Looks like Lunas doing better" Dr.Haley said proudly.
"Yeah..pretty powerful my medicine" Dad said smiling.
"Your medicine?" Dr.Haley asked raising her eyebrows.
"Oh..did I say that?" Dad said chuckling.
"I meant your medicine" He said still chuckling.
"Randolph. What have you been doing behind my back?" Dr.Haley asked suspiciously.
"Nothing" Dad answered. Still chuckling.
"Well,Whatever you did..I'm glad you did it" Dr.Haley responded.

  I was with Jesse watching the orcas as there were people trapping them in one area,away from the oil.

  We've been told that this will protect them,but it's really only trapping them and it's probably giving Willy flashbacks to North-West Adventure Park if anything.
Nadine came running at us.
"Jesse!Nova! What's going on?!" She asked.
"The nets will seal off the cove. To keep out the oil and protect the whales" Dad responded.
"Protect them? You mean trap them!" Nadine responded.
"Oh no Nadine. In an hour from now if they swim out of the cove,they're gonna swim right into the oil,they die" Dr.Haley responded.
"To trap them in the cove they can't get back to their family!" Jesse said angrily.
"It's for their own good—" Dr.Haley said,but I cut her off.
"No it's not! Do you not get what we're trying to say? None of this is for their own good!" I said.
"Not hurting them in the first place would've been for their own good! Not ruining their home would've been for their own good! It's all just a bunch of bull!" Jesse said running off.
"Jesse wait!" I said chasing him with Nadine.

  Me,Jesse and Nadine were talking about what's happening to the orcas when all of a sudden Elvis came running up to us.
"Jesse!" Elvis said.
"Where the heck have you been?" Jesse asked.
"Saving your butt! Thats where I've been!" Elvis responded.
"Now listen..there were these two guys and they were in the donut shop—" Elvis said but got cut off by Jesse.
"What are you talking about?" Jesse asked.
"I'll tell you,but you have to trust me!" Elvis said.
"Why should I trust you?" Jesse asked.
"Jesse..listen to him—"I said motioning to Elvis as he cut me off.
"Because nobody ever has" Elvis responded.

  We were running back to the docks after Elvis told us what he heard.
When we were running, two men tried to grab Jess,but he pushed them off.
"Hey you can't capture whales and dolphins! It's not fair!" Jesse said shoving one of the guys to the side.
They also tried grabbing Elvis,but he also shoved them away.

  Me,Nadine,Jesse and Elvis kept going through the crowd of people. We were getting to Mr.Dawson to confront him.

  The four of us quickly reached Mr.Dawson and I started talking.
"You are such a liar! Your not gonna help these whales,you're gonna sell them to an aquarium!" I said angrily.
"Nova,they'll be returned to J-pod. Just as soon as—" Dr.Haley was trying to talk,but Elvis cut her off.

  "No,not if he's got anything to do with it!" Elvis said pointing at Mr.Dawson.
"You're gonna lock them up and throw away the key!" Jesse shouted.
"He heard everything!" Jesse continued,putting his hand on Elvis' shoulder.

  Mr.Dawson looked at us and smirked.
"Afraid you're gonna have to leave now kids.." He said.
It looked like everyone else was judging us honestly.

  "Hey come on kid we're just trying to save the whales" One of the doctors said.
Dr.Haley looked at him and shushed the doctor.
"You're not getting away with this.." I said glaring at the doctors.
"No way" Elvis said.

All of a sudden one of the orcas squealed. They were starting to take them away!

The four of us were shocked at what they were doing as we didn't suspect them to do it now.

Mr.Dawson looked satisfied with what he was doing. He then turned around at looked at us.
"I said wanted these kids out of here now!" He said aggressively.
"You promised!" Jesse said as he pushed Mr.Dawson into the water.
"Woah.." I muttered as my eyes widened.
The other doctor was trying to help Mr.Dawson,but Elvis stopped him.
"Come here!" The doctor said trying to help Mr.Dawson.
"Hyah!" Elvis said,kicking the doctor into the water.
"That's for Little-Spot you jerk!" Elvis continued.

I laughed in a amusement as Elvis came back to me and Nadine.

Dr.Haley started to talk to Jesse.
"Jesse,Jesse I believe you. I don't know what we can do" She said holding onto both of Jesses shoulders.
"I do!" Jesse said.
"Go for it!" Dr.Hagley said smiling.

'Never thought it'd be that easy..' I thought.

"Guys let's go!" Jesse said as we started running away from the docks.
