CHAPTER : NINE

Sierra

Abala ako sa pagsosort ng mga papeles rito sa loob ng office ko. Kahit na bakasyon at magbabagong taon ay mas pinili ko nalang iabala ang sarili rito.

Wala naman akong gagawin bukod sa uminom ng kape, kumain, magbasa at tumambay sa condo.

My parents are not always in our house so even if I go home, no one's gonna in there.

Five days had passed since the last encounter happened between me and that woman. I never spoke to her again since she's nowhere to be found.

Naalala ko bigla ang singsing pati na rin bracelet na lahat ay galing sa kaniya. Kinuha ko iyon sa bag ko at nilagay sa Lamesa.

Parehas silang dalawang nakalagay sa isang velvet box.

I always bring this to me so I can return in back to her. I don't need it either so I will give it back to her.

"Iha?" Napatingin ako sa may pintuan nang iluwa nito ang Director ng University o ang President na tinatawag nila but I prefer calling him director.

Same goes with the other SSG Officers.

"Director, what are you doing here?" I asked while creasing my forehead.

"I should be the one asking you that iha. What are you doing here? It's already 8 pm and later will be new year celebration." He asked and went towards me.

He sat infront of me and his stance reminds me of him.

"I don't have anything to do so I just got myself busy with these stuff." I replied and gathered the piles of paper on my table and sort organize them.

I heard him heaved a deep sigh when he literally heard my reason again.

"Sierra, You are really different right now rather than before that jolly, always smiling, have the delightful aura surrounds you but now?" He looked at me with a sad face.

"You are cold, distant, and didn't want anything aside from doing these stuff, be with Yanna, Isla and Eleanor." Ani niya.

Pinagsaklop nito ang kamay at nilagay sa may taas ng lamesa ko.

"If this is still all about my daughter, I'm sorry as her father. I'm sorry that my father did this to you."

"Kung alam ko lang na ilalayo niya sayo ang anak ko, pinigilan ko na dapat siya. Wala rin naman sinabi sakin si Selene at paulit ulit ko na rin siyang tinatanong kung ano ang dahilan hindi siya umiimik at gumagawa nalang ng rason para iwasan ang tanong ko." Mahaba niyang litanya.

Hindi ako umimik at tinuon ang atensyon sa dalawang bagay na naging pag aari ko noon.

"Is that the ring she gave you five years ago?" Puns niya at marahan na inilapit sa direksyon ang isang box na naglalaman ng singsing.

"Yes. I just saw it on her condo. Scattered on the floor." I said.

Pinakatitigan niya ito ng maigi at agad na ngumiti. "She really keep it a secret, I see." Saad niya na kinataka ko.

"Huh? Secret?"

"Oh it's nothing iha." Turan niya at tumingin sakin.

I can clearly see his resemblance from her daughter.

"I'm gonna ask you again Ninong, what are you doing? You are supposed to be them right?" Tanong ko at pinatay na ang laptop.

Mag aalas nuebe na rin at kailangan ko ng umuwi. Ayaw ko naman na gawing kwarto ang opisina ko.
