Chapter 9: The Kane Siblings

Piper's pov:

After we exited the shop, Jason grabbed me by my waist and whispered to me," Hold on tight."

I giggled before strapping my arms around his neck. He flew up to Percy and said," see you in a bit guys. Get us our stuff, will you Annabeth?"

Annabeth nodded and gave us a sly smile. Jason shot up into the air after getting a look from his sister.

Frank seemed to get the idea because he turned into a gigantic eagle soon after Jason flew up.

I could see Hazel scramble on top of Frank and lift off. They went in the opposite direction of me and Jason.

Jason flew me up to the sky and turned to face me.

"I love you, Pipes," Jason mumbled.

"I love you too, Sparky," I replied, slightly flustered. Jason leaned in to kiss me when I heard a loud explosion somewhere in the south causing me and Jason to forget and our kiss and whirl around.

Jason scouted the surroundings and found a chimera at the far north of the area. Jason sped to the ground where Annabeth and the remaining people where. Hazel and Frank followed our example because they were found standing on their feet next to Nico in a matter of seconds.

"Chimera... far north... troubles... come on!" Frank stammered. Hazel, Jason and I nodded our agreement as we whizzed down the alley to the place where the chimera sat, growling and awaiting our arrival.

Apparently, it wasn't interested in us. Its face was turned towards a pair of seriously looking African American kids who held wands. Hieroglyphics appeared at random in the air in front of their sticks which I presumed where wands.

At first I thought that the kids were just some wizards from the school until Percy and Annabeth ran over to them and engulfed them in hugs completely forgetting about the Chimera.

The chimera growled and lunged at Percy who swirled around, sword in hand and impaled the gigantic dog in its forehead.

It let out a whimper and collapsed to the floor. All of us looked at Percy in amazement. Suddenly the boy standing beside Percy said," Not bad, Percy. Long time no see."

Percy grinned at him before realizing that we were still standing here awkwardly.

Annabeth's pov:

We ran to the position of the Chimera. Instead of attacking us, the Chimera was growling at... Sadie and Carter Kane.

I was overjoyed with happiness. I could tell that Percy had the same feeling running through his because he ran towards Carter and gave his a big hug with me on his heels.

Sadie engulfed me in a bear hug. We completely forgot about the Chimera who just stood there for a second like why aren't you screaming in terror and running like sissies?

Apparently, it got bored around a second later because it charged at Percy and me.

I was about to pull out my dagger but Percy was faster as he clicked riptide and drove it through the forehead of the beast.

It staggered in place for a moment before falling limply to the ground. I grinned at Percy while the rest just stared at his in shock and surprise.

Thank the gods that the Chimera hadn't gotten inside Diagon Alley. It was still a few meters away from the actual rush.

The few who were here were worked on by mist and Hazel so they didn't suspect a thing.

Carter said," Not bad, Percy. Long time no see."

I turned to face the rest of the group, still widely grinning when I realized that they didn't know who these guys were.

I let out a low chuckle and introduced them to each other after which the two groups stood in uncomfortable silence.

"Guys, come on, we still need an animal and telescopes," Jason said breaking the ice.

Sadie and Carter said that they had bought what they needed the day before but they still decided to tag along with us.

"So where are you guys staying?" I asked.

"At an inn called 'The Leaky Cauldron'," replied Carter.

Percy gawked at them after which he said," no way! We are staying there as well."

Carter looked pleased as he fist bumped him.

"So Sadie, have anything new happened after we met last time?" I asked Sadie who thought for a second before saying," oh it's the same. The normal life for a Wizard or in your case, Demigod but of course, Demigods get thrown around more."

I let out a chuckle before saying," yeah, guess you are right."

"So, talk me through your life. What brings you to Britain?" Sadie asked.

I replied," I guess my answer is somewhat the same about the life part but why I'm here? I have no clue. Chiron said that we were supposed to come here to make allies with the wizards which struck me as odd news since he didn't tell us why we were to do so."

Sadie took it all in. She sighed and said," It's the same with Carter and me. We were told to come here but not why."

Jason and the rest were walking in front of us. I couldn't spot Frank and Hazel so I decided that they must've flown up in the sky.

I heard Piper say," Jason, look, the animal shop!"
