As the day unfolded, Allegiant found itself ensconced in a persistent downpour. The heavens released a ceaseless deluge, drenching the landscape and coastline in a watery embrace. Each raindrop, massive in size, embarked on a journey down the office windows, leaving a trail of meandering wetness in its wake.

Mya's slender finger delicately traced the path of a slow-moving raindrop, its cautious descent captivating her attention as it gracefully made its way to the bottom sill. The room held an air of anxious anticipation, with everyone awaiting the return of Matthew and Eko.

She shifted her head slightly, aware of Richie's pacing behind her as he engaged in conversations with others who had gathered. However, the events of the previous hour weighed on her mind. It was the occurrence during that time that had led them to the office in the first place, and it was the unexpected sight of the woman that had set in motion the situation they now found themselves in.

"Sometimes I wonder if you have a death wish," Mya found herself pushed against the glass, her lips meeting those of her ex. Despite their attempts to resist, the inevitable took over on that rainy afternoon, unraveling the tension that had been building for months.

Richie, bewildered by their actions, whispered, "Mya," as he grappled with the resurgence of the strawberry-scented lipstick that had lingered in his memory for years. Here he was, entangled in it once again.

The atmosphere in the room grew heavy as the reality of the situation sank in. Mya, still against the glass, felt a flood of emotions. Regret, confusion, and the unmistakable pang of nostalgia for a time when things were simpler.

"Mya, I... I," Richie stammered, his eyes searching hers for understanding or perhaps a sign that this was all just a surreal moment.

Mya finally pulled herself away from the glass, creating a distance between them. "Richie, I d-" When she turned back around to face him, he had stepped forward, wanting to explain himself. However, a surge of anticipation raged through them, causing their chests to collide, and their lips met again. Mya felt his hand race into her hair, grasping at her desperately, his hands wrapping around her waist. A crack of thunder followed by lightning caught the pair off guard.

Their eyes bounced open as they sensed a powerful presence. Both of them, with wide eyes, turned to the window, watching out into the open fields before them.

Brows furrowed, the couple watched a spark against the downpour of their gloomy afternoon. The spark was walking towards Allegiant, and the figure was slow in its approach.

From their high view, like little ants scurrying about, Mya and Richie watched as soldiers appeared on the field. They hesitantly made their way towards whoever it was; another two soldiers entered the vast area.

Caution rippled through them, directed at the newcomer who had managed to evade the initial defenses unnoticed.

Richie cocked his head, and Mya clasped her elbows, both absorbed in the unfolding spectacle as they witnessed a magnificent flare of powers raging before them. It died out, and then alarms blared instantly.

"I get a bad feeling about this," Richie muttered, and, for the first time, Mya nodded; a sinking feeling settled in her bones.

Mya observed the new set of raindrops falling down the window; her fingertip remained where it had been, appearing paler than usual in the bleak colors of the rain. Finally lifting her finger, she examined the faint fingerprint on the glass; Richie's voice brought her back to the present.
