I woke up in the middle of the night sweating having nightmares about the time I had to end a man life took my first body.

| Dave pov |
My cousin jayson was a upcoming rapper, light skin Nigga covered in tattoos nobody could fuck with him with Hustling and making money in Harlem many tried and failed he was a flashy dude golds in his mouth thick chains around his skinny neck, he loved fashion he was working on his on clothing line independently. He was the one that told me to start rapping he was the only person who believed in me when others would frown upon me Both his parents was in prison for life so his grandma was helping to raise him the best she knew how, especially with her diabetes getting out of control it was difficult to keep tabs on him.

He would charge people in local rap battles in the city to help out his granny with the bills.

Location Harlem park

"Jay! The street life ain't for us You gotta make me proud one day I wanna see you fuckin win B"Dave said optimistically

"You already know you like a brother to me we gone fuckin make it out watch! We not gone be a victim to our environment hell Nah! See we will always have each other backs out here" jayson said bouncing the ball

"4real to the end Nigga now c'mon I'm a whoop yo ass in basketball" Dave talked his shit

"Hol up I'm go holler at shorty real quick damn she thick!!" Jayson jogged to the pretty young lady In blue

That's until I ain't know he was beefing with some hating ass Niggas see he never mentioned anything negative to me that nite' i was occupied shooting ball at the court me and him went there often we both was competitive and he was good at ball not better then me I was suppose to be the ball player until my attitude got me kicked off the team the coaches didn't give a shit because I was black they treated me poorly and I ain't want to represent a team like theirs.

I was doing my own thang until he got back shooting around warming up

That's when I heard chaos from jayson direction from afar my cousin was arguing I seen a dude snatch my cousin chain off his neck it was a fucking set up the bitch was in on it they was robbing him! My adrenaline started pumping everybody fleed the scene when they seen the gun! Even the young lady ran

I ducked behind a parked car thinking of a plan shit I gotta act fast shit I must of forgot the gun was in my bag! I took it out it was already loaded I ain't never shot a gun before I was doubting myself I slowly walked over behind him as he continued to hold my cousin at gun point I creeped behind him heart racing but I was too late my cousin fell to the ground after the bullet released he was covered in blood dead and I pulled my trigger shot dude multiple times after he killed my cousin over a fuckin chain! I hated him for what he did my heart split and two I miss my boy But I keep having nightmares about that night seeing my cousin face every time I sleep ptsd or some shit, he was suppose to be here with me he was just eighteen.

When I woke up Nia was in the bed next to me Eyes wide open she looked worried and I'm wondering how the fuck did she get in my bed I couldn't of laid it down on her Or she would've been asleep fucking wit me and that's a fact.

"How did you get in my bed nia I thought you were sleeping in the guest room ma"

Did he really just ask me that! his rude ass Obviously forgot that we got drunk and I passed out And I woke up because I heard him screaming But I guess we're not gonna talk about that?

"I heard you scream I see the nightmares getting worse you need to see someone You never told me why you had them"

" Nah a shrink can't help me It's some shit I'm not ready to discuss I had a hard life you know that ma"

"Okay so Did I in case you forgot" she rolled her eyes at his dumb remark

"My fucking cousin died okay in front of me And I'm not telling you nothing else That would have you incriminate yourself Its the past now" he rolled over not wanting to stay on the topic

"OK I see you need some time I know when you need space I'm going to sleep in the living room sorry I passed out" she got out the bed at 2am with a confused expression she felt he was putting this wall big as a china up

I'm not trying to be mean to her I just don't like talking about my past, I want her here! Fuck! I'm just not myself right now i would hate for her to see that side that I worked so hard to leave behind

"No stay I'm sorry about that you can sleep here"

He grabbed her by her soft delicate hand bringing her back to bed

It was the craziest thing because he didn't like women spending the nite it didn't matter what title it was on the relationship it was NO off top!

It was raining all night I could hear the rain pouring outside my window, something peaceful about rain it calms me I got this beautiful woman in my bed staring at me I had to control my self Or I would bend her ova right now and devour her like she never had before

I distanced myself from her so I can try to sleep with my growing erection it was for the best I'm still a man and I'm attracted to her always have been

Nia | pov |
Yeah I definitely felt that shit "oooh" I'm trying to pretend like I didn't just feel that, why make it awkward when it don't need to be? He just seems so peaceful right now he was staring out the window And looking me in my eyes smiling god that smile!
We kept looking back at each other with our backs turned against each other's trying are hardest to sleep but I knew he had a lot on his mind and I could feel the tension building up between us

"Hey nia you woke? He turned around facing her

"Yes I'm woke sort of " nia said

He grabbed me towards him pulling the blanket up stretching his long arms over me it's like he knew what I needed in the moment it was him. Nothing Else we needed each other.

Goodnight dave

Goodnight nia, he said tiredly see you in the a.m

As he fell fast asleep holding her. Something he vowed to never do with women for his own personal reasons, but tonight he vowed to live in the moment instead of following his rules.
