While he was contemplating the reason alone, Edwin continued to negotiate with the Duke of Peyton.

"Then, how about this? I will cure the princess's eyes. So she can walk around without wearing those glasses."

Both Duke Peyton and Evelynn looked surprised.

"... ... Is that possible?"

"Have you seen it before? I will destroy the workhorse."

'Ah, that's why I showed you magic.'

Now he seemed to know what Edwin's plan was.

It was reckless in a way, but it was the best plan in a way I wouldn't be questioned while in debt to Payton.

However, the burden that Edwin had to bear was too great.

I looked up at Edwin, unable to hide his embarrassment, and he squinted at me.

My heart melted at the look in her eyes that said she was relieved.

Thank you for his consideration and sacrifice.

"But in order for the deal to be successful, both sides of the scale must have the same weight."

"Are you saying you want more?"

"The fact that I know how to use magic is a secret that even the imperial family does not know. After revealing it, of course there has to be a price for it, right?"

Edwin raised an eyebrow.

Knowing the secret of Duke Crawford, unknown to the imperial family, meant that he would come under Crawford's watch.

It also meant that if they were to divulge any secrets, they would not be able to survive Crawford's blade.

Having already seen Edwin use magic, Evelynn was going to have to take it regardless of whether she was being healed or not.

In other words, it meant that it was already too late to turn around and do nothing.

If so, it would be in Peyton's advantage to seek Evelynn's treatment.

Unless methic acid is more important than evelin.

"What are you going to do? is it your daughter? Metric acid?"

Edwin asked as if he didn't really care which one he chose.

Evelynn looked at Duke Peyton, who was deeply troubled, with a complicated mind.

It was expected that it would take a long time to make a decision, but the duke's troubles ended sooner than expected.

He opened his mouth heavily.

"What else do you want besides permission to enter Mount Mether?"

"Simple. After we enter Mt. Metric, you can grant us one of our requirements."

Duke Peyton's eyebrows narrowed at the questionable requirement just by hearing the words.

His eyes were young with suspicion and boundaries.

"I swear I will not do any harm to the two of you, of course, to the Peytons. If you wish, I can write you an oath."

The atmosphere seemed to stiffen, so I rushed out.

Duke Peyton stared at me without a word.

His eyes narrowed as if trying to figure out if there was any hidden intention.

I took his gaze calmly to show that I was sincere.

"If you agree to the terms I just said, I will accept the deal."
