𝐀 damp cloth softly wiped across the teenager's head as he winced, trying to ignore both a sting of pain and the piercing stare of a pissed-off werewolf who stood behind Gabby with a curled lip and folded arms. Ever since everyone else had left he'd remained with his glare on the two boys, ensuring that they knew how much he disapproved of their presence, neither of them felt a need to question why he had allowed them to stay if he hated them so much, the answer was in front of them. Literally. Derek wasn't sure why Gabby was so eager to be a sister, if not mother figure, to the two teenagers, caring for them like they were her own, but he knew he would back any of her decisions, even if they did seem criminally insane at times. She seemed to be doing it with a whole group of teenagers, if he dared to speak poorly of any of them Gabby was the first to come to their defense, even the ones she didn't know so well, like Allison and Lydia.

But he knew her well enough to know the reason behind that one. She sympathized with them, she knew how hard it was to be a teenage girl wrapped up in this life, going from a normal life to a supernatural one all in the blink of an eye, because one person in their life managed to change it all. While he could understand all of Gabby's reasoning behind her soft spots for the teenagers in Beacon Hills, he couldn't help but be displeased with the presence of the twin boys in his loft, especially since they were the cause of the party that had been held here tonight. Gabby had let that one slip. Not to mention they were once Deucalion's betas, though he tried not to bring up that he was holding a grudge against that, it wouldn't go so well with the woman who was once in their position.

She ensured to provide them with a mother-like lecture as she wiped the blood from the healing wound on Ethan's head, one that questioned what had been going through their heads, how the two of them thought it was a good idea to invite everyone adolescent in town to the loft for what she was told was a "quiet get-together". A small party. A favor to Danny, and perhaps Lydia. None of which equaled what she and Derek had walked into tonight. Neither boy tried to defend their actions as they sat in silence, bowing their heads as they waited for her to stop, or even for Derek to start. The two of them never felt remorse for their actions usually, but when it came to Gabby they couldn't help but feel bad, part of them was even starting to feel guilty toward Derek. None of them could have ever anticipated that.

Once her lecture finished and the loft fell back to silence, Gabby took herself into the kitchen to swill off the bloody cloth, waiting to hear shouting from the other room over the sound of water flowing through the taps, but there was nothing. None of the three werewolves spoke while she was gone, only sharing awkward glances, wondering if anyone was going to have the balls to try and speak. With Gabby around, it appeared none of them did. She walked back into the room, a single glance at the clearly helpless twins who had no idea what they were doing anymore, they didn't have orders barked at them anymore, they had no purpose without an Alpha, it was what they knew, it was all they had ever known.
