Hobi awakened in the darkened room, this time aware enough to reach for Izzy.

She was right there, curled by his side, one arm thrown around his waist. He fumbled for his watch and stared at the time.  They had slept all afternoon, and it was wonderful.

He smiled as he felt Izzy press into his back and pop her head over his shoulder.

“Is that the time? ”she asked, her voice still thick with sleep.

He sat, still holding her hand. “Yes love! You will make me lazy,” he teased.

He heard her mummer something that sounded like “good workout” but he let it go.

She was not wrong.

“Let’s go girl!” he said. She could imagine the look on his face.

She squinted, her eyes growing accustomed to the light from the hall.  She was right, he was bouncing with energy.

“Give me a few in the bathroom,” he asked, heading in that direction.  He threw clean sweats and a shirt on the bed and took a pair for himself as well.

“Then I’ll get your shower warming and then get some food for us. Sound good?” he said, already walking out of the room.

Izzy smiled, hugging the pillow as she listened to him in the bathroom.

He had always been like that, gather the information, make a plan and go forward with confidence.  She lay there in the dark, thinking about tomorrow, praying Hobi would find a plan for her in the same way.

He came back in, dressed in his baggy sweats looking fresh and energetic.  He kissed her and told her the shower was warm before wondering toward the kitchen.

She grabbed his clothes from the bed, wishing she had her luggage. Then she set about trying to ignore the rest of the thoughts that came with it.

She took a long hot shower, feeling the weight of the last two weeks wash away.

She felt the heat ease her sore muscles and hugged herself when she thought of the past 24 hours.

She traced the marks Hobi had left on her smiling that she no longer had to dread them fading away .  She washed her hair, laughing at how he had tried to help her and where that had led them.

He had left large fluffy towels out for her.  Earlier she had found the essentials, this time she found a brush.  She towel dried her hair as best she could, then twisted it into a loose braid.  She was sure Hobi had some sort of space age hair dryer she would have no idea how to use.  She would save that lesson for another day.  Right now, she just wanted to be with him.

She stepped in his living room and saw him sitting on his couch, checking his phone.

He patted the seat beside him and she curled up next to him. He frowned at her wet hair and she told him it was fine.

“Food will be here in a bit,” he said, “I ordered from the same restaurant as last time. You liked the food that night.”

She nodded at him.

“That night….” She started, unsure of how to continue, “that night made me realize I didn’t want to continue the way I had been.  I thought it would be my only chance to love you.”

He nodded and took her hand.

“Then I lied and told myself we could be friends. But then when it was time to leave……” she looked at him, seeing the same hurt and loss mirrored there.

He leaned in with a tender kiss that was abruptly interrupted by a banging on the door.

“Must be the food,” he said, moving toward the door and she headed to the kitchen to help him get the table ready.

“Oh…..” he said, causing her to turn just in time to see Sky and  Taehyung step inside.

Izzy looked down at herself and then at those two.

They looked straight from a magazine article about the top young, wealthy social couples of the city.

Actually,”  she thought, “Jimin should create that series.  It would be perfect pr for the loft.”

She forced herself back into the conversation wondering were in the world that thought came from.

Sky came to give her a brief hug, her quick assessment checking if she was ok.

A broad smile crossed her face as soon as Sky touched her arm and Izzy knew she did not have to say a word.

She looked to see that the men seemed to be in a serious conversation. When Hobi turned to her he took her breath.

He looked at her with a certain possessiveness that she had seen men give their lovers before.  But that look, that claim had never been made for her and it warmed her to her bones.

“Tae was asking if we wanted to go out to eat with them tonight,” he told her.  She knew her answer immediately.  She saw it was his too, but he wanted her to make the decision.

She looked at Sky and at her understanding nod felt the connection, knew they soon would laugh and tell stories and become fast friends. She could trust her with her feelings and she would accept her, crazy quirks and all.

She blinked, realizing she had never felt about Olivia the way she already felt about Sky.

Tae’s expression offered her support as well. She felt overwhelmed by the welcome they were giving her.

She looked at Hobi, choosing her words so as not to insult them.

“Thank you. Please let’s plan another night.  We have ordered food, “she paused and moved to Hobi.  She blushed as he put his arms around her and pulled her close. “….and I selfishly want him to myself for just a while longer.”

She looked to Sky, hoping she did not come off as rude or too possessive.

And there it was, her anxiety kicking in.   It whispered that was all she needed, his friends thinking she would isolate him from the group.

Tae laughed, the sound warm and comforting.

“That, my dear, is exactly the correct answer,” he said, pulling Sky close.

He paused and kissed Sky, murmuring to her “ I am selfish too, I'm glad it’s just us tonight, let’s skip dinner and….”

“ We can hear you, you know,” Hobi interrupted.

“ Of course you can,” Tae replied, “ Take lessons! It will come in handy.”

Any further discussion was ended by the knock on the door.  This time it was the food.

“ Ah “ Tae said, “ Perfect timing” He took Sky by the hand and drew her to the door.

“ Let’s go love,” he purred in that deep velvet voice,” I find I have worked up an appetite.”

She blushed, but laughed with him as Hobi mock kicked him out.
