CHAPTER ELEVEN,
IT COULD'VE BEEN WORSE

@-maniacal-

"Sleeping beauty you're finally up, what gives?" The amber haired teen asked from his place, the only seat across from the hospital bed in which she laid.

(L/N)'s dull eyes bore into him, blinking rapidly. There was an alertness behind those glasses, but Kaminari didn't think too much of it. "How am I laying here when you're the one that went past their limit? And I'm alright, thanks for asking."

"I'm fine now." He told her. "My brain dead moment doesn't last long."

The (H/C) haired teen narrowed her brows once she wondered why he had stayed behind with her. "Why are you here?" Her tone was stern as always.

"I-uh...wanted to ask you something." Kaminari's eyes timidly avoided hers, looking at the patterns on the floored tiles. His heart ran miles as the room fell silent.

She ordered.. "Spit it out."

"I don't like asking for favors, but do you think that you could talk to your dad about me? I know I'm not the brightest but I promise you that I want to be a hero more than anything."

That was unexpected. "Why are you asking? I already said I would."

His chest rose slightly as if he were preparing himself to tell the biggest secret. A bead of sweat fell from his forehead and he confessed. "I didn't know if you were being serious, that's all. No one takes me seriously."

A silence took place, she didn't know that. (Y/N) had thought of him as a desperate guy trying to get some play but now he was far more than what he had appeared to be. "And why do you think that is?"

Kaminari shrugged, his bottom lip sticking out a tad bit. "Cause of the way I act, I guess?"

Where was he getting at? "Why are you telling me this? We rarely talk.."

His head snapped in her direction, a sudden wave of panic ran through him. "Maybe we should know each other then? I've never met anyone with an electric type of quirk except for my mom of course."

"There is no way. Elemental quirks are one of the most common." The lightning user squinted her eyes suspiciously at him. "Are you sure it's not because of my dad?"

The electric blonde waved his hands signaling a 'no'. "You've got it wrong, I want to get better! I'll do whatever you ask, seriously. All I ask is for you to talk to Storm about me."

This would be difficult, it's true that giving him a hand would get her closer to her dad and perhaps even finally get recognized by him along with Kaminari. However, with a classmate nearby there was also a chance of him finding out private things about her life and situation with the Hero Public Safety Commission and that would be a simple 'No'. And Storm worked with the HPSC for the majority of his time.

If that were the case she'd simply have to be two steps ahead of the two.

He never really seemed like the type to actually care for his school stuff, much less hero career. She'd have to make sure he was on top of things if he really wanted to be here and with Storm.
