I didn't know what I hated more. The blondie working outside or the whole working as CEO bit. It was an equal amount of hatred for both. I hated being here, hated seeing her six days a week, and even more than that I hated how beautiful she looked every single fucking day.

She takes my breath away, my lucidity, and it fucking plagued me when I saw her. She haunted me at night, dreams that came and went, were all of her. Her voice, her laugh, her smile, and how her blue eyes twinkled when she was excited or how her bottom lip stuck out in a pout when she wanted something.

Damn. This was Hell. I was sure God was punishing me for something I did or maybe for all the illegal things I've done in my life. I didn't deserve it, but surely God thought I did. I don't even think I believed in God until this karma bit me in my ass.

I've been giving her endless tasks, anything to piss her off, to have her quit, to see the fireball I knew was buried deep inside her, but nope.

Nothing.

She smiled, nodded, and did the task whether it was something serious or something as stupid as photocopying a blank paper. I'd even send her to get me coffee far away or demand she get me a table at some expensive and crazy fancy restaurant that I wouldn't show up to.

It was childish and immature, but I was too fucking angry to care. If I was being tortured here with her, then she would be too. Right now, she was trying to find me a specific kind of chips that I had once as a kid, but without any details.

Chips. They're salty and good.

That's all the information I gave her and fucking sue me because I wanted to prolong her torture for as long as I could before we found someone to take over. If she knew me. Really knew me, she'd remember that I mentioned it once all those years ago.

I remember telling her that I'd feel like a giant when I ate them and that they tasted better than the original Cheetos. She laughed that day; told me I was the weirdest person she's ever met in her life.

I tapped the end of my pen on the desk irritated, tired, and bored out of my mind. When my phone rang, I almost jumped out of the chair to get it.

"Yeah, Aden?"

"Hey, you're at work right?" He asked.

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Would it be a problem if we drop Ariana off for an hour or two?"

"Of course not. Bring her by. I'd love to see her, actually."

"Thank you. I'll explain it better when I see you." He added and I nodded even though he couldn't see me.

"It's fine. See you."

I hung up and I waited impatiently for Aden and Leila to drop Ariana off. I didn't care for an explanation really. They didn't need to offer me an excuse or reason as to why they were dropping her off. I didn't mind or care.

She was my niece and I love her to pieces. I stepped out of my office and saw Mick was still by himself which meant Nova was still looking for the chips I liked as a kid. They were the Hot Cheetos Asteroids.

They came in a bottle with a pop-off top, and they were the best thing I'd ever eaten as a kid. I remember Alex buying them for me with whatever money he could salvage. I knew they didn't sell them anymore since I never saw them unless you ordered them online, but that seemed like a Nova problem.

"Mr. Grayson,"

"How's it going?" I asked, leaning against the desk.

"Good, Mr. Grayson. Do you need anything?"
