"Aden and I found a candidate. We're having one last interview with him in your office."

He looked nervous. Alex Grayson was the founder and president of The Sinners and yet he stood before me looking anxious as fuck.

"I'm sorry for not knowing about Nova being there." He took off his glasses and gave me a tired sigh. "Aries, will you fucking say something?"

"When did you know you loved Rosie?"

He leaned further and refiled my empty cup and handed it to me. I grabbed it and took a generous sip.

"Is that what this is about? Do you love her?" He took off his glasses and tossed them down on the table.

I don't know. "You didn't answer my question."

"Do you remember the fight we had in my office where she threw her shoe at me?" I nodded. She had thrown her shoe and purse at him, then continued to scream and threaten him. "Yeah. I fell in love with her right then and there."

I sat up straighter and set my drink down. "Wait? What? She stepped out wanting to murder you."

He smiled. "I don't know what to tell you, Aries, but when she slapped me and told me how much she hated me, I was fucking hooked."

I threw my hand up in frustration. "Great. That doesn't help me at all." I muttered. "I should ask Aden. Pretty sure he's the only normal one who actually loved his woman from the very beginning."

"Love isn't one way. Rosie reminds me of this a lot. She says she doesn't believe that we were destined to be together, that someone's pent-up anger and hate brought us together."

"But you two go together and so do Aden and Leila. There's this connection and trust and communication and love."

"You think it happened overnight? Do you really think Aden and Leila are perfect? Especially with everything that's happened to her."

He shook his head. "When you're in a relationship, you work hard at it. I'm married and I love my wife and kids, but it's something Rosie and I work on every single day.

We fight just as much, but we always try to have this mentality that it's us versus the problem and not us versus each other. It's hard, Aries, but when you put in the effort it makes it worth it.

Rosie is worth it to me, and I wouldn't change a single thing about how we got together."

"Fuck you for being wise. I think I liked you better as an asshole." I mumbled.

I hated how smart his advice was because now that he knocked some sense into me, I had to really figure out what the hell I was doing with Nova.

"Let me wash up and I'll head to the office now. When's the last interview with the candidate?"

He stood up and fixed his suit, before pulling out his cigarettes. He handed me one then put one between his lips. He pulled out a lighter and lit mine for me then lit his.

"Next week."

"Cancel it."

He cocked a brow as he exhaled the smoke. "You sure?"

"I'm not CEO material, but I'm a fucking Grayson, aren't I?"

"Fuck yeah."

"Then I think I can handle my position." Just as soon as I figure out how to handle Nova. "I'll wash up and head to work and relieve Aden." I flicked the butt of the cigarette onto the ashtray.
