TRINITY

I open the door when Aaron takes a step back.

I immediately get taken aback when my mom hugs me very tightly.

"Surprise visit!" She yells.

When she pulls away she kisses my cheek and closes the door behind her.

She freezes when she spots Aaron.

"Trinity. Who is this?" She asks, staring at Aaron. Very intensely.

I gulp. "Mom, this is Aaron."

"Aaron Florence." Aaron states, sticking his hand out.

"Ashley Elizabeth." She eyes Aaron strangely as she shakes his hand. "What's your business here, Mr. Florence?"

Oh my god. Why is she being formal? My mom is usually more carefree and open, her being formal is rare and it kind of scares the hell out of me.

"I was helping Trinity pack." He states, sticking his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants. He has a charming smile on his face that makes me swoon.

Not now, Trin.

"Pack?" She looks at me. "What do you mean? What's going on?"

"Aaron and I are moving into a house together." I announce. When I see the surprise look on her face, I cringe. "We should probably catch up."

"We need to. Mr. Florence do you mind getting me a glass of wine, red preferably." She states with a smile that clearly states, 'I'm testing you.'

Aaron nods before walking towards the kitchen. My wine collection has been untouched for a while.

My mom places her hand on my belly comfortably, her voice and face softens as she asks me, "What's going on Trinity? Who is that man?"

When I told my mom I was pregnant, she was supportive of me but she had thought that the baby's father was Jared.

Jared was the last boyfriend my mom had met. Which is basically almost over a year or two ago. She didn't believe me when I told her that it wasn't Jared's baby.

"Aaron's the baby's father mom. I've been seeing him for a while now." Besides our very long break. It's a long story that I rather tell my mom another time.

Her mouth opens in shock but it quickly goes away when a glass of red wine is in front of her, a smiling Aaron placing it on the table.

I'm about to pull a chair out so I can sit but Aaron beats me to it. He pulls the chair out for me and waits for me to sit in it before pushing it in. He sits in the seat next to me, grabbing my hand under the table and giving it a comforting squeeze.

"So Aaron, what do you do for work?" My mom asks, starting the grilling questions.

"I'm a CEO and co-CEO of some of the company's the Laurent's own." He answers, easily.

My mom is a little surprised by it but she covers her reaction by taking a sip of wine.

"So your financially stable?" She raises her eyebrow.

"Very." He nods.

He's more than financially stable, he could spend money on the most useless, expensive things and still be a billionaire.

"Do you have a plan? For the baby." She jumps straight to the big question.

My mom always ask the big question last, this indicates that she likes Aaron and his answers to her questions.

"I do. Trinity and I discussed it." He clears his throat before continuing. "As you know," she barely found out just a few minutes ago. "Trinity and I are moving into a house together. Our only goal right now is to maintain a strong, healthy relationship while settling into parenthood. And after we do that, with your permission, I was hoping I could marry her."

My mom doesn't try to hide the shock in her face this time. I don't hide the shock in my face either.

We barely discussed the idea of marriage like an hour ago, it was a conversation between the two of us. I already accepted the proposal, not expecting to talk more about it until I have to actually start planning.

The least thing I expected was for Aaron to ask my mom for my hand in marriage.

My face softens.

That's so fucking sweet.

My mom stays silent for a few more seconds before nodding in approval, speechless.

"Absolutely." She smiles, a now genuine smile.

She likes Aaron.

I smile to myself, squeezing Aaron's hand under the table excitedly.

We then talk about the house, and my mom eventually offers to help us out since we'll be busy.

Moving, decorating and the baby will be a lot of work and we can use all the help we can get.

-

I smile brightly. We just finished moving into our new house.

Aaron sits beside me, on our brand new couch. His arm is wrapped over my shoulder as his other hand rubs my belly.

Cleo and Chase lay on the huge dog bed in the corner of the room while Dylan sleeps next to Aaron. I haven't seen Dylan in a while. Apparently Ayla kidnapped him.

My mom has her own bedroom in our house. She's going to be living with us for three months.

Aaron keeps kissing the side of my head, whispering sweet words in between the kisses.

My mom loves Aaron. She adores him. And it's vice versa with Aaron and my mom.

Instead of me telling my mom what had happened between Aaron and I these past months, Aaron told her.

My mom has been, basically, sad ever since my dad had died. To her, she's only known that he was missing.

Aaron decided to give her closure. It was a deeply emotional conversation but my mom can now sleep better at night knowing what had happened with my dad.

Aaron had also explained some things that I didn't know about.

Like how he ended my lease on my previous house, by killing Jared and my other landlord.

It shocked me but when we went to bed I had given him a 'thank you' present.

Aaron also took me ring shopping. I was very focused through the whole shopping trip but I ended up leaving with a ring on my finger.

All the rings were beautiful but Aaron picked the ring I ended up leaving with. It was beautiful. It's huge, flashy and extremely expensive.

"I can't wait to fuck you with you only wearing that ring."

He had whispered that in my ear just a few minutes ago.

I'm pregnant with his child and he still manages to make me blush.

With the new house, a second-chance with my relationship with Aaron, and the baby on the way, I couldn't be more happier.
