So I was on Pinterest and came across a fasting challenge, where for each week in a month is a different fasting method. The goal is to use fat as a source of energy. It seemed interesting and I wanted to try it and see how far I'd end up. I did fasting before, but not long.

The 18/6 method is where you fast for 18 hours and eat for a 6 hour eating period

The 18/6 method is where you fast for 18 hours and eat for a 6 hour eating period. With this method I'll be fasting all night and all morning, eating lunch at 12:00 p.m. and dinner at 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.  With bowling practices ending at 4:30 p.m. then dinner will be quick and be at 5:00 p.m. Which is only on Monday's and Tuesday's.

The OMAD method is simple, you eat all your calories in a meal. Which this will be more easier to eat my calories in an hour. May be short on calories, but it's only a week. Meaning it'll be fluids with calories (rarely), a snack or dessert, then ofc a big dinner. Which of course I eat at 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

The 20/4 method is where you fast for 20 hours and eat in a 4 hour long period. Which I'll start at 3:00 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. Like maybe a small snack each hour besides dinner.

On the weekends, I get to eat for 6 hours or I get to do OMAD. Which can be perfect for my schedule for on days that I'm busy or visiting my dad's house. Even if my mom takes us out for dinner.

Benefits of fasting:
• Boosts cognitive performance
• Reduces inflammation
• Improve fitness
• May improve sleep
• Weight loss
• Reduces the risk of obesity and heart problems
• May improve mood
• Reduce risk of PCOS or fix PCOS
• Improves fertility
• Decrease appetite and may help you avoid snacking
• Cellular repair
• Protects brain
• Lower insulin levels
• Hormone balance
• May improve skin
• Slow down aging
• Boost immune system

Warning: if you are suffering from heart problems or diabetes, please do NOT do this and confront a doctor first. I, myself, am perfectly healthy and I have done this before. Do NOT do this challenge if you had an ED as well, to avoid relapse.

In conclusion, I'm not doing this for just weight loss, but also because of the many benefits of it. At the end of the challenge, I'll tell you things that have changed and results. I have done this before for a few days at a time, but never a full month. Maybe if it goes well, I'll do this every few months to not only keep the weight down, but for health. I guess I'll see how it end ups.
