Everyone has that moment when something--or someone--makes a difference in your life. That moment may not completely flip your world, but it may change your perspective of life or even yourself as a person.
I, Aurora Rosenburg, had my life completel...

I feel the slight pain in my legs when I wake up. The pain is bearable but the throbbing is a constant reminder of the car accident I was in. I don't even know where I'm at.
The bed I'm lying in has soft, cotton sheets and fluffy pillows that my head is sunken into. Two nightstands are on each side of humongous bed, the one closest to me bare and the other covered with a leather book and a lamp.
The rest of the room is almost completely bare. There aren't any photos or little trinkets of decoration. Instead, there's a tall dresser across the bed with one door on each side. The only thing that could be considered decoration is the sheer, white curtains, which are flowing from the opened windows.
It then hits me. I'm in someone's house, and I don't know where I'm at. Anything could've happened while I was unconscious. Caitlyn could be gone- dead, while I'm here alive. Flinging the soft sheets off my body, I ignore the pain in my legs and try to stand, but when I put weight on my legs, I fall to my knees.
A startled scream escapes my lips. Why can't I stand? Putting my hands on the mattress, I push myself up, ready to try to stand again. The bedroom door is then swung opened.
Caitlyn rushes to me with a worried look on her face. She gently pushes my body back down on bed.
"Aurora, you still need to heal." She tells me, pulling the blankets up to my chin.
I stare at her shock. "You're alive," I say, looking over her body for any wounds. The cut on her head is healed, only a faint scar at her temple. "I thought you were dead. Where are we?"
Caitlyn smiles at me. "I'll explain later, but you need to sleep, okay?" She pushes a piece of my hair off my forehead.
For some unknown reason, I listen to her. Her dirty blonde hair looks recently brushed, and she's wearing a casual outfit consisting of jeans and a white v-neck shirt. She's okay, though. I relax back into the bed. As she turns away from me, I notice the red patch of skin where her neck and shoulder meet. Caitlyn walks out of the bedroom and closes the door before I'm able to ask her what happened to her neck.
I feel confused but close my eyes. The cold breeze coming from the window and the soft sheets slowly pull me into a deep sleep.

When I wake up again, Caitlyn and a woman I don't recognize is standing over me, almost as if they were waiting for me to awaken. The stranger is a strikingly beautiful woman who has deep red hair, dark green eyes, and a pale complexion. She smiles happily at me, and her smile makes her more beautiful.
"Hello, Aurora. I am Josephine, and your friend has told me about the accident. How are you feeling?"
I furrow my eyebrows together while pushing myself up into a sitting position. "Are you a doctor or something?" I ask, resting my head against the headboard.
