Red Sky (14,2)
The beating didn't stop until Luna's third attempt at getting her to take the chip. Tyra made sure to keep her lips shut as the man kept switching between punching her in the gut and in the cheek, she could feel the blood swishing in her mouth from how harshly she had bitten her tongue after one particular punch, but as soon as A.L.I.E learned she was a Nightblood just like Luna, she'd be tortured non-stop.
And that was the one lesson Lexa had refused to teach Tyra, how to survive torture. So she only had basic knowledge about how much pain she could take before she broke. And though she had never reached her limit, Tyra didn't doubt A.L.I.E would soon push her to it.
"I cannot take it. If you stop, I'll do it. I'll do it. It's ok." The one who had been holding Luna let her go, giving her space to take a few water filled breaths while he approached the chip to Luna's friend's mouth, as Tyra swallowed down the foul taste of her own blood to be able to speak.
"Don't take it. She'll make you torture Luna yourself if you take it." The man who had been beating Tyra up returned once more, sending even more punches against her gut, sides, and face while she saw Luna's friend be freed to approach her.
"Derrick." Luna's voice sounded so broken, it was all Tyra could focus on while she attempted to keep her composure against the multiple bruises forming on her body.
"You just need to take the key." And then he dunked Luna's head fully into a pale of water, holding her down while she struggled under his grip.
The beating this time was harsher, sending Tyra's vision spinning and her chest aching. If they didn't stop soon, she'd break a rib, and the fight that she'd surely have to go against with Ontari for the role of Heda would be harder with any sort of hurt ribs.
But suddenly the beatings stopped, her face being held up to look straight at the man beating her. He passed his thumb above Tyra's lip and brought it up to the light, it was stained black. He had hit her nose at just the right spot to make her bleed without breaking it.
It was too late, A.L.I.E knew she was a Nightblood.
The man looked behind Tyra's shoulder, probably listening in to A.L.I.E's instructions, while he squished Tyra's cheeks between his hand. Seeing that A.L.I.E already knew of Tyra's state, she no longer bothered hiding her bloodied mouth, rather spitting the mouth full of the substance straight on to his face, so she'd drop her altogether.
He dug into his pocket to bring out a chip, holding it up to Tyra's face. She already knew the question and the answer she'd give without even hearing the words.
"Take the chip, Tyra." She looked straight into his eyes, imagining A.L.I.E eyes rather than his own, even though she had never seen her form.
"No." The man looked over her shoulder for a small second before sending another fist to Tyra's face, just to begin the beatings once more.
Only, Tyra no longer bothered hiding her blood as she spat it by her side, rather she focused on not breaking, hiding deep inside the memories of her mind to only allow pained grunts to leave her lips.
She thought of her first lesson with Loukas when he returned as a Reaper, he claimed he hated getting beat over and over again, but Tyra could see the massive smile on his face every time he nearly managed to hit her. One of her happiest memories to date, just being able to fight with her long dead brother was greater than she could've ever anticipated.
The beatings momentarily stopped, Tyra watching as Derrick dragged Luna upwards and just as the door opened to drag a young girl inside. Which, judging by Luna's sudden panic, was someone close.
