Perverse Instantiation Part One (15,4)
Although Clarke was desperate to put the flame in Tyra's neck now that she was Commander, Tyra had been almost immediately pulled away to her chambers to begin cleaning her for the ascension.
But unlike Lexa who had somehow adapted quickly to having over four people fussing over her appearance and bath arrangements, Tyra was simply stiff and uncomfortable for the entire process to the point when she had finally made it inside the scalding hot bath filled with various herbs to help her stinging wounds, she had made everyone leave and sent for Loukas to accompany her and tend to her every need. Something that annoyed him to no end, but Tyra felt more comfortable asking for Loukas to fetch her a cloth than someone she had never in her life seen before.
"More water for you, Heda." Loukas poured the jug of scalding water straight over Tyra's head, making her blood stained face run over with the previously clear water, only to have it turn a dark grey just like the rest of her tub water.
"Thank you brother, as nice as ever," Loukas chuckled, sitting himself on the stool beside Tyra's bath while she pushed the straightened wet curls out of her face.
"Can you believe A.L.I.E? She really wanted an unfair fight by giving Ontari that chip. Though I suppose if she had offered to both sides it would've been fairer, but I wouldn't have taken it." Loukas passed his hand over the darkened water, twirling the floating herbs between his fingers.
The water was far too darkened for him to even see the bottom of the tub, so it hid Tyra's body well. Not that he would have ever disrespected Tyra by peeking, he wasn't that kind of person, nor brother.
"I considered taking it once." Tyra dipped further into the bath, wincing as her shoulder hit the edge while she sank herself up to her neck, her hair floating around her like a necklace.
"Me too." Loukas raised his eyes to meet Tyra's own, he had been disgusted by himself for wanting to give up so easily, for wanting to free himself of the pain of living with his memories.
"Why didn't you take it?" Tyra sighed, pushing herself back up, so the back of her neck rested against the edge of the tub.
"I don't want to forget them, any of them. I'm the only thing that can keep their names and anecdotes alive. The pain reminds me to keep going, if not for me, then for them."
"Not even a day of being Commander and you already sound like an old woman giving advice." Tyra scoffed while Loukas laughed, her cupping her hand around the dirty water before she sent it towards Loukas' face, his shocked face making her laugh just as hard as he had been a second prior.
But before Loukas could give retaliation for Tyra getting him wet, a knock interrupted their laughter, the siblings' smiles immediately falling while Loukas straightened to go for his sword by his side, a mere instinct after all the danger they had faced.
"Enter." They only knocked again, which made Tyra believe whoever was on the other side didn't speak Trigedasleng which greatly reduced the possibility of who it was to one person.
"You can come in, Bellamy." The door creaked open while Loukas stood to his feet. Just as Tyra had expected, it was Bellamy who came in, immediately averting his eyes to the floor once he saw Tyra was still bathing.
"How did you know it was me?"
"You're the only one in Polis currently who doesn't speak Trigedasleng."
"It could've been someone who was chipped coming to kill you for beating Ontari for the flame."
"Then they wouldn't have knocked," Bellamy sighed, it was hard to argue against Tyra's logic, especially when she was mostly right.
