Canada sat on the edge of his bed, still slightly shocked. He turned to look at the empty bed on the other side of the room. He couldn't do this. He still wanted to wake up to his brothers goofy grin, his obnoxious laugh, his embrace.

Canada quickly wiped away the tears that pooled in his eyes. What happened that made this possible? Why did father decide to kick out the one person he actually relied on? The one that made him happy? Canada knew his brother had no where to go, he knew he could be dead right now.

He heard a soft knock at his door. "Come in." Canada said in a monotone voice. His sister, New Zealand, walked into the room with their twin, Australia, following close behind her. They felt it too, the way color was stripped from their lives as soon as their brother was gone. "Can... we got some news." New Zealand said with a solemn expression.

"Go ahead, Kiwi." They gulped and looked at Australia. She said, "Father is sending out troops to look for him..." Canada perked up. "...to preform a punishment that will 'teach him to never misbehave again'."

Canadas eyes widened. His baby brother had his fair share of punishments that always happened to be worse that the ones the others would get, but if this one was the one father decided would finally straighten him out, this must be terrible.

The twins saw his face and nodded in union. "I hate to say it, but I hope he doesn't come back. For his safety." Australia said. His twin elbowed him. "Aussie!" They whisper-shouted. Canada wasn't the emotional sibling by any means, but he couldn't hold it in anymore.

One sob turned into two, and two turned into two-dozen, so on so forth. The twins looked bent down and held him in their arms the best they could, despite his size compared to them. Eventually they all started to cry in the loss of a vital part of their dynamic.

They all were so confused, angry, and sad that they didn't hear the sound of heels clicking against the floor and toward their room. The door swung open, and there stood their step-mother, France. "Mes amours, quelle peut être le problème?"

She said as she ran toward them to help them up. Aussie and Canada stayed silent, but Kiwi said through slurred sobs, "I miss him mama, I miss him so much!" Frances gaze immediately softened. "Oh mes amours..." She sat with the crying children and embraced all of them. France looked to the sky through the window, the moon shining especially bright.

"Oh mon Amérique, reste en sécurité."

--------------------------------------------

If you are somewhat familiar with a Latin language, the translations shouldn't be difficult, but France is basically calling her children her 'lovelies' and asking what the problem is. Then she says she hopes Ameri is okay. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter!!
