19 ◈ Stays the Same

Felix wandered up to the human as he was minding his own business; Body a bit too numbed out from the events of the night before to process more than a few flickers here and there, hardly an hour of restless sleep keeping him shifting and turning underneath the warmth of the mattress covers, keeping him from closing his eyes as he saw a shadow moving in the dark; Mind a little too fuzzy, lost in a trail of nonexistent thoughts lingering on the corners of the brightly lit apartment; His exhausted legs shuffling out of the kitchen with a cool glass of water numbly processing in his hand. The depth of the temperature calming him, grounding him back to reality as he sipped off the top of the sloshing liquid.

The vampire stopped in front of him.

Eyes wide.

Jaw loose.

Felix blinked at him.

Then,

"Jeongin bit Minho."

Seungmin guessed, eyebrow quirking up at his weird behavior, "Okay...? Is that bad? They're vampires, they won't go delirious."

"Seungmin. Your friends are all vampires, and you don't know the basic knowledge," Felix frowned up at him. He turned back to his precious task with an excited step, a waterer in his hands as he was busy with doing his weekly rounds of nourishing his insane multitude of indoor plants. Returning to their dehydrated soil with a careful hand and trained eye ensuring the plants were devoted proper attention to keep their dependant roots alive. Felix complained more to the plant than the other two in the living room of his apartment, "Do you not know what that means? How do you not know what that means? Don't you go online to the internet? Do you really not know?" 

"No?"

"When a vampire bites another vampire—"

"Seungmin," Changbin called him from where he relaxed on the couch, holding the hand that was previously petting the golden retriever laying her head in his lap out to Seungmin.

The human wandered over to Changbin. Slowly touching the palm with his fingers as they were gently grabbed up. Enveloped in a comforting embrace.

The vampire explained with a sigh, "It's vampire on vampire thing. Means he wants to smash, but, in, a, kind of, an intimate smash. Like uh... A love confession but in a more... Into him way."

"Oh," Seungmin hummed softly.

Changbin sent a small smile to him, the hand bundled around the human's gently squeezing a reassurance into him.

He timidly returned the gesture with his own quirk of the lips. 

"Yeah, doesn't really work with humans because we go all feral with the blood. But with vampires? It's a romantic thing!" Felix raved as he turned back from watering his plant, the two immediately letting go of each other's hands before he noticed; Changbin returning to scratching the dog relaxing with him (Pants always seemed to have a strange affection for the man, not even Felix knew why she chose him as her second favorite person); Seungmin folding an arm over his chest as the other lifted the water to sip gently at it. With a rolled step bouncing him and his brunette hair around, Felix exclaimed, "It's cute! It's so cute! It means those two finally are confessing after four fucking years of being stupid and oblivious."

"Well, okay. Good for them, I guess," Seungmin shrugged to them, gaze flipping between the other two looking at him. Not entirely sure how else to answer them. Was he supposed to be happy with the relationships of the vampires he knew? He wasn't particularly close to either of them, he wasn't exactly excited at the news of them maybe getting together, especially now with the spinning in his chest yet to have settled from his close encounter. The vast void, spanning the deep caverns dug into his body, where the slight feelings may have tunneled through, may have become stigmas on his expression, revealing him for who he was. He didn't exactly know how to respond to this kind of news either. It wasn't... really his business to know what they were doing...?
