Damien POV

I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of Savannah's parents staying with us, but I also wasn't angry. While I would have preferred to be alone with her, having her parents present gives me the assurance that she will be safe when I am not here. Savannah's safety is my main priority concern at the moment.

That wasn't an accident by chance. When the driver stepped on the gas, he waited for Savannah to step out to the curb. They'd specifically targeted her. I'm not sure why, but whoever is responsible will be sorry.

We arrived at my mansion; I hadn't yet brought her here before. However, staying in the penthouse with her parents seems a little too cozy for me. We will have more privacy and security here. At the gate, I informed the guard that Mr. Matt Waverley and Mrs. Sarah Waverley were on their way and would be my guests for the next few days. I also told him he needed to add more guards to secure the property.

I assisted Savannah in exiting the vehicle. She was taken aback by my location. I haven't brought her yet.

"What are we doing here?" She enquired.

"This is our place."

"Are you serious? This is a monstrous mansion."

"You seem surprised."

"Damien, this is like a damn castle. I knew you were wealthy, but I didn't realize you were this wealthy."

"I must confess that I am offended." I told her, disappointed.

"I saw they valued this mansion at 450 million dollars."

"Let's get you inside, you need to rest. Your parents are on their way."

I take Savannah's hand in mine and lead her up the winding staircase to our bedroom. It's a large room with a four-poster king-sized bed and windows that overlook the sprawling grounds outside. Savannah takes a deep breath and looks around in awe as we walk in, clearly taken aback by the sheer opulence of the space.

Savannah's parents arrive while I'm still trying to make sense of my own feelings about the mansion. I'd just finished ordering dinner for the two of us, and the timing couldn't have been more inconvenient. Savannah's parents are taken aback by the size and grandeur of the mansion, and I make sure to tell them how much I adore it. I don't want them to think I'm bragging or anything.

Savannah's father asks me what I'm doing to find the person who hit Savannah with the car as we sit down for dinner. I reassure him that I've enlisted the help of my best men, but I can tell he's not entirely satisfied with my response.

Dinner is delicious, and we talk and laugh about a variety of topics. The conversation, however, takes a turn when Savannah's mother begins sharing details about Savannah as a child. She's clearly proud of her daughter, but Savannah's expression says otherwise. She appears irritated and embarrassed by the attention, eventually yelling at her mother to stop.

Despite the awkward moment, we all manage to have a good time for the rest of the evening. Savannah and I retire to our bedroom for the night as Savannah's parents say their goodbyes and went to their. We've had a long day and are both exhausted.

As I lay in bed, I couldn't help but be thankful for Savannah's presence. She's been through a lot recently, and it's reassuring to know that I can offer her a safe haven from the chaos of the outside world. I wrap my arm around her and fall asleep, content and at peace.

I had to wake her up, as much as I despised it. Savannah needed to be woken up every four hours, according to the doctor's orders. And as much as I hated to be the one to do it, it was my responsibility to ensure that she got the care she needed. But little did I know that waking her up would be far more difficult than I had anticipated.

Savannah was not to be trifled with, and she let me know as soon as I tried to wake her up. Her voice was tinged with annoyance and frustration as she snapped at me. "If I woke meup again, I will divorce you." She threatened. I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction, amused by her exaggeration. I reminded her that we hadn't even married yet, and that even if we were, she wouldn't be able to get a divorce from me so easily.

I couldn't stop laughing at her words. I could tell she was only half serious. But her rage was genuine, and it hurt. I tried to explain to her that the doctor had given her specific instructions, but she refused to listen.

Savannah's temper seemed to worsen rather than calm down. I climbed on top of her and pinned her hands above her head in frustration. "Do you honestly believe you'll be able to leave me?" I inquired, half-jokingly. "I'm possessive and aggressive. I'll never leave you. You're fucking with a shooter who has never fallen in love."

She didn't push me away, which surprised me. Instead, she returned my kiss with ferocious intensity. I forgot about the doctor's orders for a moment as I felt the heat of her body against mine.

But then reality hit. I gently drew back, reminding her that she needed to wake up. She sighed and gave in, reluctantly agreeing to get up.

I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt as I watched her stumble out of bed and to the bathroom. Was it worth putting our relationship at risk for her health?

But, on the other hand, I knew that love wasn't always easy. It sometimes meant making difficult decisions and prioritizing the well-being of others. And if that meant waking her up every four hours, well, that was fine with me.

I couldn't help but smile as Savannah emerged from the bathroom, bleary-eyed and rumpled. I knew we had a long road ahead of us, but I was willing to go to any length to ensure she got better.

I had to wake her up, as much as I despised it. And I'd do it again and again, for as long as it took.

Savannah had a hold on me that I couldn't shake, as much as I hated to admit it. Her words were intoxicating and addictive, like a drug. Even as I fought her, I knew deep down that I was only fooling myself. It was all or nothing with Savannah. And, as much as I despised it, I knew I was willing to put everything on the line for her.
