The day felt like it was dragging as I sat and watched people in the ocean.

I should've just stayed in bed all day, it was tempting when I saw Damien when I woke up, and what he looked like when he was sleeping.

His sleeping face was so cute, he looked so at peace and comfortable that I must have watched him sleep until he woke up, and even then, his moans and groans were cute.

Damien wasn't a morning person.

He had tried to get me to stay home by clinging onto me for twenty minutes, I eventually had to jog to work just to make it on time because he wouldn't let go.

If anyone saw how he acted this morning, they wouldn't believe he was thirty-three, I found it super hilarious, although Damien didn't as I couldn't stop laughing at him.

Something in the ocean catches my eye and pulls me from my thoughts, it almost looks like...

"Oh my god." I blow my whistle and jump from my chair and start running across the sand to the ocean.

Someone was drowning, and by the looks of it he was an older man struggling to keep afloat above the water as his hands starts thrashing wildly in every direction.

With my float in hand, I ran into the water then dived under as a wave was coming, then I began swimming towards the older man, who looked panicked but relieved to see me when he saw me swim towards him.

I grabbed hold of him and made him grab hold of my float. "He- hey, you're okay now, I got you, alright?" I said soothingly to him, as he gasped for air.

"I-I'm sorry, I thought I was fine but my foot..." He cringed out as I nodded my head and dived under the water to get a lot.

It looks twisted and swollen, and he had managed to hit it on something as it was bleeding, but it wasn't as bad as it looked, I could treat this much when I get him to shore.

I noticed he had an old scar on his left cheek, it was more noticeable now that I was next to him, it looked painful, like he had been in some sort of accident, but I didn't look for too long, as I needed to get him back on dry land.

Back to the surface, I put my hand on his back and smile reassuringly at him as I saw the panic in his eyes.

"I'm going to start swimming alright? Keep hold of the float and try to not let go, just relax your body and leave it up to me." I said as he nodded his head and then clung onto the float.

I started swimming and dragging the man with me, from the beach I could see Auster and another lifeguard with a forming crowd of people watching to see what was happening, when the other lifeguards noticed they started to push people back to give me some space.

I dragged the man enough until he could put his feet onto the ground, then I put my hand over him to support his leg which he was obviously limping on from twisting it.

"You're fine now, we'll take a look at that leg, the ambulance will be here shortly." I said to him as we reached the beach.

He sat down on the sand as Auster passed me the med kit, his ankle was looking bad but it's nothing that was going to ruin his life or cause him long-time pain, he just needed it cleaned and looked at by a professional.

"Y-You saved my life." The man said, looking at me in awe.

"I'm just doing my job sir." I smiled out as he shook his head.

"No, you're a brave woman, I bet you can handle anything life throws at you." He said, making me look at him strangely as I felt a shiver run down my spine.
