JUNGKOOK POV

"It was a good investment."

I slip my hands into my pockets and walk around the small complex of apartments Joon
and I just completed
construction on.

We originally planned on
keeping it as a rental
investment but an offer
came in that was much higher than we expected so we
went for it.

"What do you want to do next?"

Joon nods toward a shopping center across the street.

"Emily keeps going on and on about these bubble tea places."

"I don't even know what the
hell they are but apparently, they're all the rage. Maybe we should open up one of those."

I raise an eyebrow, knowing
he's joking.

At least, I hope he's joking.

"You want to open a teahouse?"

Joon gives a casual shrug like he's seriously considering it before laughing.

"Okay, I guess not."

"What are you thinking about?"

"I don't know."

"Tesla is buying up all the
empty office space around here."

"Maybe we should pick up
some of those empty buildings and flip them?"

He thinks about it for a
second then nods.

"Yeah, that's easy."

"I'd be down for that."

"And it's not very hands-on,
I've got enough of those right now."

"I'm looking for cash
investments that don't require a lot of my time at the moment."

"Yeah, I hear that." He bounces one of the infants he's holding
in his arms then looks at me.

"Speaking of hands-on, can
you get your hands on one of them before I drop them?"

I smile and reach for baby
Rain.

She's the prettiest baby I've
ever seen, which makes me laugh when I imagine how
much trouble she's going to
be as a teenager. Poor Joon
has no idea what he's in for.

"Come here, sweet girl."

"Let Uncle Kook show you how business deals are made."

Joon rolls his eyes.

"Good luck with that, All she cares about right now is how dirty diapers are made."

I waggle my eyebrows at Joon, remembering some of the stuff he's let slide about how much
fun it is to have a nursing mate at home.

"And let's not forget about the milk that creates those diapers..."

He gives me a knowing smirk.

"Yeah, that too."

"It's not easy to forget."

I tickle Rain's tummy to get a gummy grin from her.

"Where is Jin, anyway?"

"You usually only have one baby at a time when I see you."

"As much as I prefer the divide and conquer strategy, Jin
needed a break. He's having coffee with his friend Jimin."

"Jimin?" I raise an eyebrow, surprised Joon isn't more concerned about his mate
out a date with another guy.

"You're not worried about
this friendship?"

"I think Jimin has always had
a thing for Jin but it was completely one-sided."

Joon gives me a pointed look.

"Jimin's an omega too."

"He's a breeder at the
colony Jin was raised in."

"They aren't compatible."

"Was Jin a breeder before
you met him?"

I've always wanted to ask but
it's not the kind of thing that
just comes up in everyday conversation.

At least, not usually.

But since Joon brought up
Jin's past, it seems like a
safe time to sate my curiosity.

"Fuck no." Joon cringes then looks down at his babies.

"I mean, heck no."

"He actually had a condition
that made it difficult to get pregnant, which is why he
ended up working for Mark."

Now it's my turn to cringe a
little bit for bringing it up.

"Right, sorry."

"It's fine."

"We all have pasts." Joon starts walking toward the parking lot.

"All I care about is our future."

He leans down and kisses the
top of Jih's head.

"He's with me now and we
have our family."

"That's all that matters."

Watching my friend with his newborn babies brings some
thing inside me to the surface.

I've been trying to ignore these thoughts but it's getting harder.

Especially when I look down
at the precious face staring
up at me.

"Yes, it is."

When we get to Joon's Tesla,
he secures Jih in the car seat while I gently sway Rain in
my arms.

Her eyes are drifting shut and
I know she'll be out as soon
as she's buckled into her seat.

"Sometimes I think I should
get one of these."

"You totally should." Joon
reaches for Rain.

"I can call Elon and get you
into the factory."

"You can pick everything and avoid the wait lists."

It takes me a second to realize what he's talking about.

"Not the car." I chuckle and look down at the two sweet babies nestled snugly in their seats.

"A baby, I've been thinking
about it a lot more these days."

He snaps the buckle on Rain's harness then stands up with a shocked expression on his face.

"Are you serious?"

"You're ready to settle down?"

"Yeah, I think I am."

I lean against the back of
the car and look out at the foothills surrounding us.

"I'm not getting any younger, and my wolf is getting impatient."

"Are you seeing anyone?"

Joon rests his arms on the
frame of the open car door
and cocks his head.

"This is the first I'm hearing about this."

"No, I'm not." I cross my arms over my chest and sigh.

"And I might not find anyone."

"Which is why I'm thinking I might need to look into one
of those breeding colonies."

"Do you think Jin knows anyone who might be interested?"

"Only one way to find out."

Joon reaches into his pocket
and pulls out his phone.

"Let me call him right now."
