JUNGKOOK POV

Walking into our home with
Jimin on one arm and Jungmin cradled in my other, I feel like
a king approaching his throne.

Pride doesn't begin to describe what I feel for Jimin for giving me this gift.

But as soon as we step inside
the house, I realize I'm not ready.

"Um, I haven't changed
anything in the rooms but
westill don't have a crib..."

Jimin gently pulls away from
me and reaches for Jungmin, snuggling him against his shoulder.

"Jin and Joon gave me a
bassinet at my shower,
Lisa will bring everything
over in a few hours."

"You had a shower?"

I can't believe I missed that.

Well, I can because I was being
a complete asshole when I should've been at Jimin's side.

"It was very small."

"Basically, Lisa and Jin
were looking for an excuse
for brunch and bought me
a bunch of stuff."

"At that point, I wasn't even
sure if I was gonna keep the baby or if Lisa and hobi would
be raising him but we knew
we'd need some basics until
we figured everything out."

I hate myself for having
put Jimin through that and allowing my friends to
witness what a bigoted
jerk I am.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there."

I pull him closer and hold Jimin against my chest, carefully cocooning Min between us.

"But I'm grateful you have friends and family who love
you enough to be there for
you when I wasn't."

"You don't have to keep apologizing, I understand."

He pulls out of my arms and looks up at me, wrapping his
fist around the front of my
shirt so he's practically
hanging from me.

"You needed some time to adjust, Granted, it wasn't
the best timing but you were
there when it really mattered.

"And you're here...now."

"Now and forever, I'll never
turn my back on you or
min again, no matter what."

Jimin nods and looks down
at the baby. "I know."

"You know but you don't
really believe it."

I sigh and reach for his bag
of stuff the hospital staff
gave him as a starter kit.

"That's my fault but I intend
to change your mind."

"You will trust me
again, I promise."

Instead of taking my words
at face value, Jimin adjusts
Jungmin on his shoulder.

"His diaper feels squishy."

"I think I need to change
him."

"Fuck, we don't have
diapers either."

I should've placed an order
days ago when it was clear
Jimin and Jungmin would be coming home with me.

Jimin nods toward the
bag in my hand.

"There are enough diapers
to last until Lisa comes by."

"She has everything we should need for the next week or so until we can go shopping."

Once again, his family is
taking care of him and our
son in a way that I'm not.

I really need to step up my
game if he's ever gonna trust
me again.
