Chapter 36

•Koran's P.O.V•

There was no word capable of expressing my anger.

As Zielo and his friends rushed over to Alex, I couldn't help the increasing rage that slowly started to overtake me. I looked at the attacker, stumbling as he freed himself from the debris that had fallen on top of him. Once I got a clear look at his face, my anger only grew. But I wasn't surprised.

"Andrew..." I muttered. "Saladin, bring him here." I said. Saladin nodded and brought Bliss to me with his telekinesis. Bliss struggled.

"Damian." I said. The young mind elemental turned to me. "Go to Alex. Things might get messy."

Damian nodded and ran to his friend without hesitation. I turned back to Bliss.

"Well, well, if it isn't Koran Fier. Still as strong as ever, I see." Bliss rolled his eyes. I stomped to him, fire trailing behind me.

"Listen here, Andrew." I lit a flame in my hand that spread across my forearm. "As much as I want to rip your head off your shoulders and keep it as a trophy in my office, I'm willing to give you a chance to explain yourself." I tried to keep my composure, but the rage was evident.

Bliss said nothing. Instead, he smirked. I could feel the blood boiling, on the verge of exploding, but I let out a breath. The flames on my arm went out.

"You want me to explain myself?" Bliss chuckled wickedly. He then looked at me, his eyes sparking with a sinister glint.

"You'll have to knock me out first."

With that, his eyes glowed a venomous purple as he flung each of us backward with his telekinesis. Amaru and Michael collided with the wall, while me, Saladin and Evelyn caught ourselves. When I looked up, Bliss had disappeared.

"Watch your backs, everyone!" Amaru growled. He emerged from the debris, the tattoos on his arms glowing brightly. His nails grew into claws and his fangs became more prominent. Michael readied a pair of daggers made from sharp shards of ice. I looked to Saladin and Evelyn, who were both in fighting stances. I looked forward, flames ignited.

"Silva, look out!" Amaru said, tackling Michael out of the way if an incoming energy sphere. Bliss then appeared behind the brute and kicked him across the arena. Michael quickly got up and slashed at Bliss. Andrew dodged, the blades narrowly missing his eyes. I took my chance, dashing up to him and attempting to land a punch. I missed, barely leaving a mark. Bliss jumped back and shot a sphere right into my stomach.

I was shot back, barely managing to catch myself. My entire stomach hurt, but I shook it off, preparing for another attack. At the same time, Amaru let out a deafening roar as his eyes glowed with a wild, malicious glint.

"I'M GONNA RIP THAT BASTARD TO SHREDS!" He roared again before dashing to Bliss. He swiped his claws at Andrew, slashing into his torso. I heard a cry of pain from the traitorous mind elemental. I chuckled to myself.

"I guess the beast within Beast is finally loose." I muttered.

"You can say that again. I can't remember the last time he went wild." Evelyn said next to me. I turned to her.

"Eve, this might get messy. Go protect the children, and check for any injuries on my grandson." I ordered.

"With all due respect, headmaster, I'm more than capable of fighting with you-"

"That wasn't an option." My eyes glowed with a certain hue that made her stare at me blankly for a second.

"Yes sir." She nodded, before making her way to the students.
