Two months ago:

There were a lot of people in that VIP room: Bartholomew, his two best friends, the nurse and Bonnie. That was already enough in itself but hearing the commotion, soon security came in too. Bonnie got pulled backwards and the nurse was helped up gently.

"Are you okay? asked the security member."

It seemed people thought that Bonnie was the bad guy here and they made sure that the nurse and Bartholomew were okay, wanting to take Bonnie away. I knew that she would work through this and decided not to intervene, waiting patiently. But of course a fake doctor hiding behind a door was suspicious and I soon got spotted by Bartholomew. he stopped looking at Bonnie and lifted his gaze to me. I had to admit that he was very imposing and I would have crumbled if I didn't hate him that bad. I had never hated anyone in my life but just seeing this man reminded me of everything he would do and I really wanted to slap him. Just once and then go to prison without any remorse.

Being spotted, security soon came for me too and dragged me into the room:

"Don't you dare touch me!"

I tried hitting one of the men in the stomach but they were way too strong for me and I didn't manage to touch him. That was very frustrating and I felt my blood boil:

"I swear to God, I've had the longest day of my whole life and if you don't let me go right now I am going to use that poisoned syringe on you."

Bonnie seemed terrified of me but suddenly I heard someone laugh. When I turned around I saw Bartholomew looking at me with a smile and that made me go crazy:

"Who are you smiling at? That girl saved your life two times and you don't say anything to security when they grab her like a criminal?"

Everyone looked at Bonnie and I could feel that the members of the security started getting confused about what they had to do. That was when the fake nurse decided to talk her way out of it:

"What is going on here? I just came to check on the patient and got tackled to the ground."

I couldn't stop screaming but had to held back because this was Bonnie's moment, not mine. Therefore I just bit my lips until I felt a metallic taste in my mouth.

"She is not a real nurse. That syringe is full of poison."

The fake nurse started laughing pretending that Bonnie was crazy. This was the moment when Bartholomew should have looked at Bonnie and asked her how she knew about this but for some reason he didn't say anything and that forced me to look at him. He wasn't looking at Bonnie at all and was focused on me for some reason. Seeing him stare at me I frowned:

"What?"

Bartholomew smiled for some reason and I really wanted to make him swallow that smile but I was still held back. Bartholomew didn't even look at Bonnie and told security to take the fake nurse away. The latter tried to jump for the syringe but got caught and soon cops took her with them. Now that the fake nurse was gone I thought that they would let us go but we were still held by security and Bartholomew asked me:

"How did you know about the nurse?"

I frowned:

"I'm not the one who came to save you."

I pointed to Bonnie with my chin and the latter nodded.

"I know."

I frowned. If he knew then why was he looking at me? Bonnie didn't care and answered anyway:

"I saw her in front of the hospital and dragged him with me. He has nothing to do in this. Let him go."

Bartholomew didn't pay any attention to Bonnie for some reason and being stared at in silence, I had to say something:

"Can you let us go now?"

One head movement from Bartholomew and we got set free by the security guards.

"Okay then, bye."

I was ready to leave and grabbed Bonnie's arm to do so together but of course it wouldn't be that easy.

"Not so fast."

I turned back, irritated:

"What?

-The girl is staying.

-She is not.

-I need to ask her some questions."

This was happening exactly as in the book. Bartholomew was going to kidnap Bonnie and no one was going to stop him. But not under my watch.

"She isn't answering any questions without a lawyer. I am taking her with me. Bye."

But security didn't let us out.

"Why are you in such a hurry?

-You can't force us to stay.

-I am not forcing you to stay. You can leave any moment but do you have to leave immediately? You saved my life, I can't let you leave empty handed.

-For the thousandth time, it wasn't me. I was just passing by. Bonnie is the hero here. She deserves two huge gifts. Not even one.

-And what would you want?

-To go far away from here?

-Why? Did I hurt you in any way?

-You didn't.

-I would feel bad if I did. For some reason I feel that you don't quite like me.

-I would like you way more if you let us go."

Bartholomew laughed:

"I told you. You are free to go. But the young lady is coming with me. You will understand that I can't let go of someone who appeared exactly in time to save me two times from a murder attempt.

-She doesn't know anything. She is just a very lucky and smart woman.

-Is she?"

Bartholomew finally looked at Bonnie and his eyes were terrifyingly cold. So cold that I placed myself between them to protect Bonnie. Seeing me move, Bartholomew looked back at me and smiled:

"I see that the two of you have a very close relationship.

-Not really. I met her an hour ago.

-And you followed her here?

-He doesn't have anything to do in this. I dragged him here against his might.

-I see.

-I feel like this is going in circles."

Bartholomew shrugged:

"I have all day.

-Well I can be stubborn too.

-Really? I would love to see that."

Bartholomew wasn't yielding, he was going to take Bonnie to his mansion no matter what and I knew that he could kill me any moment if I was being too troublesome. I was actually surprised that I survived this long and knew that I wasn't strong enough to fight against security. I glanced at Bonnie and she shook her head meaning that she had no plans either. Seeing us frown, Bartholomew smiled:

"I guess this means that we are having two guests."

I frowned:

"We are not guests. We are being kidnaped.

-I told you, darling. You don't have to come."

I felt my blood heat up:

"How is that better? I have to come. I can't let her be kidnaped alone."

Moreover, where could I go?

"I am so happy to hear that. Let's go."

He tried getting up but his best friend closest to him tried stopping him:

"You have to stay in bed for a few days. The bullet wound hasn't healed yet."

Bartholomew shook his head:

"How could I rest when I have guests waiting for me."

I coughed:

"Kidnaper."
