As fate would have it, the mermaid and the submariner do cross paths once more. The distance between them is great, but they recognize each other with ease. Angel's heart flutters as the man swims further, getting closer and closer and closer till he's right in front of her. Angel's skin still crawls, but nothing tells her to flee. Her eyes are locked on his and doesn't even so much as put up a fight as his hand reaches out to grab hers.
Namor guides Angel through the sea, going deeper and deeper till they reach a current within the depths. He looks back at her once, then ushers them into the current, that zooms them through the deep dark sea. Angel's heart beats like a mad drum, but she cannot hide the smile on her face, nor can Namor as he feels her hand tightly clench his.
The current drops them off in a world different from the rest of the ocean.
It takes them to Talokan.
As Namor and Angel swim through the underwater city, the world around them seems to come alive. The water is both glowing and gloomy. There's a light source under the sea that creates beautiful highlights and daunting shadows.
Angel can hardly believe her eyes. She's seen many wonders in her years as a mermaid, but nothing quite like this. It's as if they're swimming through a dreamscape, a world beyond imagination.
The city below looks like the word above. The architecture is vaguely familiar from that which she grew up in as a child.
She sees children dressed in familiar clothes playing pok-a-tok underwater, and it's a sight that makes her gasp in delight. Everywhere she looks, she sees beauty and wonder. Namor smiles as he watches her. He sees her eyes light up in wonder and awe, and he never removes them as he guides her throughout the city.
As they approach a large palace, Angel feels a sense of anticipation growing within her. She can't wait to see what's inside. The air is filled with the scent of sea salt and exotic flowers, and Angel feels like she's in a dream.
Finally, they arrive at a grand chamber with a large throne at the far end. The throne is the jaws of a colossal shark, sitting beneath a giant glowing ball, of which is a mystery to Angel. She has seen the sun under the sea, yet has no idea what it is.

" Bienvenido a Talokan ( Welcome to Talokan )" Namor utters, eyes still locked on her.
" Jats'uts ( It's beautiful )" Angel beams as her eyes twinkle.
" So are you," He speaks in a tongue unfamiliar to the mermaid, and can't help but chuckle as her head turns with her brows furrowed in confusion.
" Máakalmáak le lenguaje ( What is that language?)" She ponders.
" Ingle," Namor responds.
" Ma'atech u ka'a ts'ookbes ka'ache'( I have never heard it before )"
" Je'el u páajtal in ka'ansikech ( I can teach you ) "
The mermaid smiles and nods, accepting the man's offer, which makes him smile in return.
As she settles into her new home, Angel feels a sense of wonder and excitement that she's never experienced before. And with Namor by her side, she knows she's in good hands.
Over the next few days, Angel spends her time exploring Talokan with Namor. He shows her all the hidden treasures of the city, from the bustling markets to the quiet gardens.
They also spend a lot of time swimming through the ocean, discovering new sea creatures and hidden grottos. Angel is amazed by the diversity of life that exists beneath the waves, and she feels like she's learning more with each passing day.
But as much as she's enjoying her time in Talokan, Angel can't help but feel a sense of unease. She knows that her past is catching up with her, and she's not sure how much longer she can keep her secrets from Namor.
One day, as they're swimming through a coral reef, Namor notices that Angel seems distracted.
" Ba'ax ku yúuchul? ( What is wrong? )"
Angel hesitates for a moment, she gnaws at the inside of her cheeks as her stomach churns with the guilt of her actions. She is unaware of how he will react, but decides to tell him the truth. She tells him about her past, how she was once part of a pod of mermaids who used their siren songs to lure men to their deaths. She tells him about the guilt she carries for what she did, and how she's been trying to make amends ever since, especially how she sank an entire ship full of people, and has sworn to never use her siren song ever again.
Namor sees a bit of himself in the mermaid as he listens to her story, for he too holds anger and resentment against the surface world.
With Namor's support, Angel feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. She's grateful to have him in her life, and she knows that together, they can overcome anything that comes their way.
As the days pass, Angel and Namor grow closer. They share their hopes and dreams, their fears and insecurities, and Angel feels like she's found a true kindred spirit.
And as they swim through the ocean, hand in hand, Angel knows that she's found her true home in Talokan. She may have been a mermaid for hundreds of years, but it's only here, with Namor and the people of Talokan, that she's truly found a sense of belonging.
