The air was foggy between Spencer and Y/N. Neither of them knew where they stood. Were they friends? Was there something more to their relationship?

As soon as Y/N was out of Spencer's view, a huge smile appeared on her face, and that night, the image of her kissing Spencer hadn't left her mind. It was all she could think about and it kept her up all night.

The moment Spencer couldn't see Y/N, the biggest smile appeared on his face. No girl had ever made him smile this much. He headed home with the image of Y/N kissing him in his mind. He didn't want the image of him being kissed by Y/N to leave his mind. It was like a dream that he'd remember for the rest of his life. That night, he went to bed and fell right to sleep to the thought of Y/N's lips on his.

(The Next Day)

Y/N walked into the bullpen, feeling lighter than a feather. With Agent Jackson gone, the air was easier to breathe in and she was thankful. Y/N had been part of the BAU for less than a week and she already felt at home. Everyone had made an effort to make her transition to the BAU easier and she was glad. It helped that she already felt so comfortable around her co-workers.

She sat down at her desk, relaxing for a moment before waiting patiently for another case to be revealed. As she took a moment, she turned around, about to talk to Derek when her gaze moved from Derek to the tall figure walking through the big glass doors. The moment his gaze met hers, Y/N watched as a smile took shape on his face. She couldn't help but smile back, almost putting her feelings on full display. She quickly faced her desk, remembering that she was surrounded by profilers who'd figure out why she was cheery the moment they saw the smile on her face.

Unfortunately, she couldn't avoid the look of confusion from Derek who had noticed her chair turn a little too fast.

"Good morning Y/N." Spencer smiled, sitting down at his desk. His gaze mostly focused on her, waiting for a response, but he could see Derek watching the very interesting situation play out.

"Good morning Spencer." She replied, trying to remain as calm as possible. The man she was in love with sat only a few feet away from her and Derek had been watching them both.

The moment Hotch walked out of his office, Y/N exhaled, knowing exactly what that meant. A new case. Soon enough, everyone sat in the conference room, Penelope standing near the screen, giving the team a run-down of the case they would be investigating.

Every now and again, Y/N's gaze would move from the screen or the file in her hand to Spencer, who couldn't help but meet her gaze. Not once did she look at Spencer and look away before he caught her staring. Every single time she looked at him, he looked at her and their gazes met. During those 20 minutes, Y/N was glad that everyone else was focused more on the gruesome images than on the glances that her and Spencer were sharing.

"Wheels up in 20." Hotch announced before he left the conference room, leaving everyone else to follow. JJ, Derek and Prentiss had left the room and soon, Spencer had exited the room as well, not wanting to seem suspicious.

"You met someone, didn't you?" Rossi pulled Y/N aside, a smile on his face.

"Wha- I don't know what you're talking about." Y/N tried to be cool and deny his theory, but he clearly didn't believe her and knew she was lying.

"You weren't focusing as much on the screen and gruesome images as the rest of the team. You also remained silent during Penelope's presentation. Since I've met you, you've been very assertive. You stand up straight and you focus all your attention on Hotch or whoever is talking. But today? Today, you were slumped over a bit and you attention was more on the mystery person you've met and less on the gruesome murders that we're going to investigate. It seems to me that you relax your posture whenever you think about the mystery person. " Rossi shook his head, chuckling.

"Fine. I did meet someone...but we- we kissed and I don't know what's happening between us." Y/N admitted. She didn't know why she was telling him. She had known him for a month at best. Her admitting the truth might have had something to do with the fact that Rossi gave off a father figure vibe. He seemed like the kind of person you could vent to and express your feelings to without receiving any judgement.

"I won't tell anyone as long as you promise me that you'll focus on the work. Keep your attention on doing your job and work the case. Deal?" Rossi smiled.

"Deal." Y/N nodded, understanding what Rossi wanted from her.
