Being hounded about when you were going to have kids one day is one thing. Being hounded by your own family who doesn't understand or respect boundaries in that matter is another. 

Although it had been weeks since you and Rodney got married, some years after Robot City was saved, your parents had been harassing and demanding you give them grandkids right now. Rodney's folks were patient and understanding, which is something you're thankful for. 

Your parents? Not so much. 

They wanted you to just pop out kids the moment you graduated college and found a man suitable to them. No matter how many times you told them you weren't ready yet, it's like they pretended they didn't hear you and kept hounding you until you felt like your mind was about to explode at the end of the day. Not that you hate kids or anything. You love kids, just as long as they are polite and sweet, and you or Rodney don't have fertility problems, either. Plus, you want to be financially stable and have a good place before you even get into the stage of life

Rodney was there for you and encouraged you--but did not force you--to keep the relationship with your parents. Sometimes you want to, but you just wanted them off your backs for a while longer. 

One day had gotten out of hand. After another hour of harassment and demands of grandchildren, you started to lay down some boundaries to them about why you're not ready yet and when you will be ready, followed by rules that you know are reasonable. At first, there had been silence on the other end of the call, but then it was broken by wailing from your mother and loud scolding from your father. In the end, you said that you need some time away from them and cut off contact with them. Even though it was hard, it had to be done for your own good. 

Rodney didn't need you to tell him what happened after he got home from work that day the phone call happened. He just held you, comforted you as you cried from the frustration and pressure finally being released from within you, and ordered some takeout while watching some rom-com to keep your mind off things. The following day came and went, and you told your relatives and a few acquaintances who had sided with your parents the same rules and boundaries you told them before blocking them as well. Better safe than sorry, right? 

Since then, there was peace and silence. It was relieving. No more dreading calls from your folks, no more wondering when they were going to try and force the topics of kids down your throat. Rodney's parents were much better. They didn't pressure you or Rodney to have a family right now whenever you visit them, and they didn't even reprimand you for the boundaries you laid down. It's something you never got from your own folks. 

But lately, you've been wondering. Would Rodney be ready around the same time you are? 

You didn't need to answer that for long. A few weeks after you cut off contact with your parents, Rodney had been leaving hints that he's ready to have a family with you, with you returning the gestures. He had been dreaming about having a child with you for so long since he fell hard for you. He even kept imagining what you'd be like around your own kids, thinking about how great a mother you'd be one day. 

Soon, after some conversations and days of leaving behind hints for you and the other to find, the both of you have decided you are ready. 

After he got back from work a few hours earlier, Rodney took some time to make the best comfortable bedroom for the two of you before you got down to business. With enough confidence, you walked into the bedroom in comfortable, yet sexy lingerie, which made Rodney's face burn red, nevertheless, he smirked lovingly. He was only wearing his pants so he have a quicker time to make the night unforgettable.
